So this deserves more attention as it looks like a pretty wide spread problem. If this occurs at release I will be asking for a refund because I don't want to be wasting my money on a broken game.

I'm getting horrible lag when the fleets and infrastructure starts growing, no mods or anything installed. I'm playing the game just as intended. Is this a known problem?
