I bought LH and have played it some. I can't say that there is a lot more there for your money, and the more I play it the more little annoyances I come across. I have not had a crash yet, touch wood, but it's early days. :) LH, looks and feels better, but atm I still prefer the game play of FE. We will see how things pan out in the next few months.
Tattyhat
I would very much like for the AI to stfu. Talk about getting spam nagged . [e digicons][/e]
Yeah, I done this, but later, the army would randomly take itself back on a walk-about. It's like 'explore' re-activates itself after being used. It's just something that the devs could do with looking at.
Nearly gave up playing when I repeatedly had my army's get to their destination only to turn around and go of in some random direction on their own. The only solution seems to be to spam the explore button. Very annoying bug.
I have to agree. I really don't like the new hero system in LH. I preferred the old system in FE, or as suggested unlock them but recruit them at your leisure.
Inform her that the game has a shop where you can buy those unusual items that the neighbors can't possibly have.
Something I have noticed in LH is that your army no longer takes a straight line to it's destination but sort of zig-zags all over the map. Has this something to do with roads?
I hate random events in any game that are not in some way linked to the players actions. They are a meaningless waste of time, and a rude interruption to the game play. Glad they gave us the option to turn them off. :)
Great, but I am having a little trouble finding corerandomevents.xml. Could you point me in the right direction please? I want to get rid of all the random events, so deleting it will do fine, thank you. [e digicons][/e] EDIT: Okay I found it. I also found a option when setting up a new game were I can set random event freque
I can't find a option to turn off the random events in the game. Anyone know of a way to mod them out, because I hate them?
AI doesn't have to be intelligent, it only needs to look intelligent to the player. In FE/LH the AI seems to me to be a brainless thug, it's only purpose being, to grief the player at every opportunity. [e digicons]:ninja:[/e]
I was told the nonsensical warmongering AI had been fixed in LH. sigh!!
Yes, it was a bit of a shock to me also. Anyway LH on steam is the full game, so no need for FE, I have actually uninstalled FE as LH seems to be a much better game, but is still basically FE with nobs and whistles. It's a steam world I guess or maybe it is only necessary while LH is in beta.
Okay I bought it. My first impressions are that the game both looks and feels leaps and bounds above FE. I have to say LH looks very promising indeed and has instantly renewed my interest in the game. I am keeping my fingers crossed that they now have the AI on a leash.
Tatty, I'm the biggest warmonger there is and the AI hasn't dog-piled on me for a long time. I think Brad fixed it. The thing the OP was talking about is a random world event where everyone including you must declare war on everyone else.
Ah, I see. That is good news. I hated having my game ruined by the AI dumping on me. Are these random events goi
6) I'm not a great fan of random game events that cause things like eveyone declaring war on each other. I seem to remember a game setup setting where the frequency can changed. Hope it can be turned off. I'll have to check.
I was thinking of buying the LH addon until I seen this ^^. I am very sad to see that the AI still goes nuts with the war dec's, it's a real g
Stopped playing FE months back, only because of the poxy warmongering AI, it simply spoiled the game for me, but I must now give it another try and see how it has progressed.
Thank you for the patch but I can't find the button to disable the poxy super-weapons anywhere. Good job I have a mod to do it for me, or else I would be quite upset.
I actually got white screens with the adaptive version, but otherwise it sounds like we're experiencing the same thing. I just set it to MSAA... the quality isn't as good as super-sampling, but it's a lot less annoying than having flashing textures.
Yes, your right. I get white screen where the map suppose to be and black screens replace some of the graphics such as characters.
It doesn't matter if you have your Anti-Aliasing mode to User application settings. If your Anti-Aliasing mode is set to Adaptive Multi sample, you will lose graphics and suffer black screens.
FE and the AMD anti-aliasing don't get along. Try setting your Anti-Aliasing to Adaptive Multi sample from your control panel and you get black screens. This is without having it forced. Super sample seems to work better, but you still get glitches and the odd flashing texture.
Crashing most of the time, early on in the game. Not sure if it's when auto saving or end of turn, I will have to take more note. For me, this is the most unstable build so far.
This AI problem has been around forever, and is a great big black festering hole in what otherwise is a fantastic game. Why on earth don't they fix it, is it working as intended?
Diplomacy is a great game after you mod out superweapons. But personally I like Sword of the stars II better.
I could never play a Sins game that contained super weapons any more. To many times have I been having a really, really great game only to get trashed completely by super weapons. They really should have a option to turn them off.
