Let me know what you think. ;)

Seeing how it's Christmas I thought I would give you guys a present in the form of a heads up on a really good old school type game. I have been playing it for a few days now and can't put it down. It's cheap atm, give it a go, I think you will like it. ;) http://store.steampowered.com/app/296570
Have to admit the game is feeling rather nice to play. I was over joyed to see that some of my actions could reduce the clock of doom, it gives the game a more flexible feel, opening up your options instead of having them set in stone.
Look here my good chap. Frog doesn't like tactical combat, so I don't think it matters what you want. You will get what you are darn-well given and like it ;)
Huhu! SK brought something new to the table, and all was well. Some of the idea's that frog has for the game sound spanking, but there are others that threaten to label the game as (just like all of the rest), the same old tiered formats that everyone should be sick of by now. It would be a shame if it turned out that only half the game was great and the other half a sleeping pill. ;) I like the colour scheme of these new forums. They a
I find any aspect of a game that resembles work (complex crafting, unrest, etc:) extremely boring. Why is it that no one make's games anymore? It's either 'whip me till I bleed or work me till I drop'.
It has been said often that the crafting system in SK was ingenious because of it's simplicity. It never got in the way of the games flow. If you wanted a bit more depth, you could have made some of the ingredients harder to find, or harder to win. To change now to a complex crafting system, I think, would be a big mistake.
I thought everyone liked the crafting system, I saw enough post that supported that theory. I liked it anyway, in fact it was the best thing in the beta. I hope you don't spoil it.
My mistake. Should read what op said in full. :) I love's my classic shell, it does everything I want and it's freeeeeeee.
Stardrive 2 is already much, much better than SD1. Trust me.
What about these allegations that this Zero being a con merchant, any truth in them Wolfie, or just hot air? I know he has locked to forums to none game owners. That's a bit shady. I have just remembered something that Frog said about some things that you do will get you noticed by the SK, and the whole idea is not to get noticed until you are ready. So the reason for it maybe something along those lines.
I got the Gal Civ III beta and it's quite fun. Obviously it is missing a lot of features (diplomacy is quite rudimentary, not all the races are playable or as opponents and not all the victory conditions are enabled) but I found it quite an entertaining little 4X game. I didn't play much Gal Civ II so I can't really compare the two. Definitely think Gal Civ III has the potential to be an excellent game, though. [/quote
I just done a experiment. I started a new game of LH and kept two city's at 0% unrest far into the game without killing the populous. It was quite interesting this time around, but I can't see it being very interesting or fun in future games. It's just something you HAVE to do if you want to carry on killing stuff. :) Anyone here playing Galactic civ 3 and can recommend buying it yet? I like Galactic civ 2 and was just wonderin
Quoting Tattyhat, reply 37 I guess unrest is fine as a cosmetic, but when it starts to hamper your game play in a real sense, then it's a pain in the bum and no fun, make's me want to drink rum, save scum, and ring mom. [e digicons]X|[/e] <b
Unrest is a mechanic that adds depth, realism and fun to the game. Depth because it is one more factor to care about, realism because it resembles what would happen in a similar situation if it could be "real" and fun because having to properly manage your cities is a big part where the fun comes in a 4X.
There's that word again: 'Realism'. Realism is for flight simulators. For every gram tha
Wow, all of this unrest over unrest. I for one, enjoy the mechanic. It's realistic and it's challenging to overcome, which adds to the strategy concerns. i don't remember any of this dissent when it was introduced in Legendary Heroes. i say stick with it, Frog. We can give feedback once it's introduced. How long until the opt in beta choice?
I think unrest was first brought into games to counter the desire from a few gamer's for city spamming. It was fail then, and is still fail today. There has to be a better way such as the one city per region system used by Endless legends. Anything but unrest. :) What ever the reasons for it, I don't think unrest is the answer.
With LH, I have to stop playing, so that I can handle unrest. Like answering the door, phone, or fixing the shed roof in the snow, it drags me from game-mode and slaps me into work-mode. How can this be classed as fun? It's a game, not a political simulator for gauging the feel-good-factor of young voters.
So if we had called it Thralldom instead of unrest would that have changed it for you?
I doubt in the long run it would have made any difference at all, but it might have made you look silly for naming it so. :)
Suggestion removed through lack of enthusiasm.
My first impression of the games direction were......... There was you, the hero, your dog Barney, and a few brave followers who embark on a quest to unite the few remaining survivors to do battle with the sorcerer king ONE last time. So was I wrong, are we instead to be treated to yet another city building/management game? <span style="font
Funny that! Who asked for UNREST to be introduced? I didn't see anyone asking for UNREST to be introduced. You are making this up as you go along aren't you? Unrest! I hate with a passion in game's such as this. It's the only reason I stopped playing the total war series. Unrest belongs only in games like sim-city, other than that its distracts and breaks game flow, and
