In my game the Navigators have formed an Alliance with the Phalenoids Advance (see screen shot). How is that possible? I cannot form an Alliance with them because their ratial trait does not allow it. Is this Alliance a special feature of the <a title="GalCiv4:Phalenoids Advance" href="https://wiki.galciv.com/index.php/GalCiv4:P

Interesting observation about keyboard shortcuts. I recently switched from Anno 2070 (release 2011) to Anno 117 (released 2025) and noticed how often I now use short cuts to get things done. It really helps to keep „the game flowing“. It also means I keep looking at the beautiful game world instead of buttons. I guess a good UI is like a good IT department or maintenance: you only notice it when it is not working. Thanks for improving the game!

Great read! Thanks for sharing. Unfortunately, I don’t have the time to play all the wonderfully diverse civilizations. However, the Korath Clan cross the uncanny valley for me. In Germany, we read some of the protocols of the Auschwitz trails in high school. Hence, I don’t want to play as a civilization that has a Death Camp improvements, where the prisoners are worked to death. I wouldn’t enjoy it. But it gives me good reason to fight the good fight and free the ga

The 100 % workload occurs even when zoomed in on empty black space. It is around 20 % on Planet screen and 60 % during the Battle Viewer. The FPS is around 100, but drops sometimes to 5! I would gladly set it to 60 FPS if it prevents my PC turning into an oven.

I noticed that my GPU runs at max power (99% utilization, 350 Watts power) on the Galaxy Screen, which seems excessive. Here is my system: GPU: AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX (Adrenalin v. 25.8.1) CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D RAM: 32 GB OS: Windows 11 latest update (26100.4946) I tried various driver options (e.g. Radeon chill) but the huge power draw on the Galaxy Screen remains. It drops down to 20 % on "static screens" like the Planet Screen. For what it

Version: 3.01 Details: The Planetary Monitor event has an option to "reduce crime by 5% and provide 2 Precursor Nanites". It gives the two Precursor Nanites but does NOT reduce the crime rate on planets. How to reproduce: load attached save game and choose the option from the event. Check planet crimes, e.g. Heavy Light Crome before event: 23 %, after selecting the event: still 23% Files: <a href="https://1drv.ms/u/c/7833052b6ab28dad/EfqlX_sWSFRNtA0sQAFLQ3cBESmATV

What you describe as "organic difficulty" is what I like about a good 4X game. It invites me to try different styles and interact with my opponents. That is why I like Gal Civ. On the other hand, CIV 7 falls short on that from the Let's Plays that I have seen. It forces you down one road and playstyle. I am looking forward to my new Gal Civ 4 playthrough.

First, I greatly enjoy the game! Keep up the good work[e digicons][/e] UI: I think the Prestige victory is a great idea. It gives so much freedom of how to achieve victory. I like that I can e.g. play as a Science focused civilisation but either with a Military or Trade flavour on top of that. However, the Prestige breakdown does not give any information on how the points are calculated. The game does provide zero feedback why I have, e.g. 200 points i

Hi, I noticed that my Approval does not excced 96 %, even though the modifiers sum up to much more. In the attached screenshot the Approval should be 151 % but is stuck at 96 %. I am playing with all DLC (including Megastructures) version 2.92 and veryfied the game files via Steam. Thanks for your help!

I am looking for information on how the prestige victory points are actually calculated. I like the idea that you can control how you earn them, e.g. by focussing on either research or wealth. But I found no in-game (or outside) information how they are earned. Usually, you can get more information in a tooltip by mouse-over a value (like a Citizen's Morale), but this does not work for the Prestige. E.g. why do I have 120 points for Research but only 8 from Wealth? I didn't find anything on t

Thanks for this Dev Journal! I am currently playing as the CC, and I am wondering where or how I can see if a Citizen is in their Amoeba, Larva, or Nymph state. Do I need a certain Technology or other way to evolve them, or is it just a matter of time? Also, why does the CC get an Executive Order to increase the Food of a planet? They don't rely on Food, or do they? Thanks for your answers!

Greetings, fellow galactic rulers! I just lost my first game in GalCiv IV: Supernova! I have been playing 4X games for thirty years, and I very rarely get out-played by the AI. Kudos to the team of GalCiv IV [e classic]:congrat:[/e] So, I now wonder what my mistakes were and what I could have done better: It was my second game of GalCiv IV, and my first against a Bright AI. I played as the Navigators on a medium sized map with two sectors. Two of my neighbors wer

Hi, can my 11 year old PC handle Gal Civ IV Supernova? I have an i5-3570K CPU @ 3.40GHz (4 CPUs), 8 GB Ram, an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660 Ti with 2 GB Ram and running Windows 10 (64-bit). My DxDiag says I am running at DirectX version 12. So on paper, my system meets the minimum system requirements. But I am not sure if my system can really run Gal Civ IV. (It does Gal Civ III runs fine). Thanks for your help!

I will wait for reviews, but I’m really interested in SubNautica: Below Zero and Humankind. But I might need to upgrade my eight year old PC first. Given the present hardware situation, this might actually be the bottle neck for me. Maybe I‘ll try out GeForce Now.

German chancellor Merkel expressed her concerns about Twitter's permanent ban of (still) US president Trump. She argued that these kind of decisions involve the freedom of speech and, thus, should not be handled by private companies.

They start with vaccinations in my country after Christmas. Of course, they start with high-risk groups (like my 80 year old aunt). The general population (including me) won’t receive the vaccine before summer.
