Actually, I entered this thread because of the enticing subject by Shmoopy. She's hot, a nice person and a great artist and skinner. Why do these people think that skinners have time for their "free" personal requests. Don't they realize the time it takes to create a skin? Don't they realize that time is money? Personally, in your case I would reformat. Who knows what kind of bug you may have. But first, I would get a copy of Spy-Bot Search and Destroy too(its free), run it, and pay attention to missing system files that maybe referenced in the registry as well as trojans and spyware. As Karma-Girl mentioned there are a lot of nasty worms out there on the net. I hope you have a good firewall too. Kona, a all clean doesn't mean much if your virus signatures aren't up to date. Once, I had a virus on my system and the virus scanner didn't detect it until I updated the signatures. Also try, SpyBot Search & Destroy, it will get many things that Ad-aware missed, as well as registry orphans that Norton Utilities missed, I guarantee you, and it is free too.

I read a lot of PC Magazines. In their tests, they say that there are viruses that even Norton, which was second best, missed. Mcafee missed many viruses in their test. I tried getting the top rated program but, it isn't a commerical product. This program missed none of the viruses. And, the company didn't answer the telephone. Strange. It depends on the size of the file you downloaded. Mostly they seem to be 1K or 2K shortcut files. If you are restricted to download a certain amount of material, then a large winstyles file, might fail. But, if you purchase the product you have unlimited downloads.

You may have strange results as I did. My start menu would just lock in the up position. I figured something was wrong with windowblinds since it made custom modifications to my start menu. So, I uninstalled WB4 and I looked in the folder, and all the program files were still there!!! So, a uninstall won't do it for one reason mainly that I've found. If you install windowblinds 3.5 directly and then WB4 from CM, they are installed in different folders. So, uninstalling from CM won't take care of

Just uninstalling won't do it. It sounds like you probably didn't uninstall your previous version of windowblinds before installing WB4. So, you may have conflicts between different dll files. If you really want to try to fix it, I would uninstall WB4 and erase the program directory. Then, try to install it. But, this is the first time I have heard of this sort of problem. Assuming you have all the parts of Object Desktop, you may want to download the files individually.Winstyle packages are sometimes delivered through a shortcut instead of the full file package. This occurs when the winstyles file is 1K or 2K. It is just a shortcut and doesn't always work well. That can cause a problem. What I do is this. 1-Download the 1K or 2K shortcut file.2-Then double click it. You will see the names of the files contained in the package. Go to the library for the file

Personally, I think it is a good idea. I would love to participate. I have done a few sysmetrix and quicknotes. I definitely feel inspiration from the idea. Assuming you downloaded the program. Personally, I just start the program and click load and browse to the .logonxp file. Double clicking the downloaded file doesn't always load it and then you have to load it from the directory it was copied to anyway, and then you'll have two directories for the same skin. Just delete the extra .logonxp directory once the skin is loaded. Good Luck.
