No, problem, bud. Take care.
Oh yeah, and don't worry about asking dumb questions. Everyone asks them in the beginning. But, a few never stop asking them. lol. And, at least you knew where to go to ask. Have fun. [Message Edited]
Also try Cursor XP, Log On Studio, DesktopX, Iconpackager, etc.. But, you really want Object Desktop, which contains most of the preceeding programs except CursorXP.
If you mean applying the skins for the program: Once you unzip a skin, copy the folder to the theme folder for sysmetrix. Then you can start the sysmetrix program, right click the programs display and choose configuration. At the configuration window look for Theme browser and click the available theme you want to load and then click the load theme button. Wahla.
Okay I guess it is time to say something here. I'm sorry for singling out anyone but, I feel it needs to be said. I read something very positive and constructive in hashonboat's responses and I feel it should be mentioned. I think the rest is not his responsibility but the result of leading examples. "The reponsibilty for that lies at the top for not directing the community in a more nurturing direction and leading by example." (From Hashonboat) Then I will quote
I'm sorry Anthony Roberts but, I won't respond to anything non-constructive. I won't participate in personal attacks about anything, especially not regarding the use of "a" instead of "an" or sentence fragments when I'm just typing a topic on a computer message board and not writing a Essay or thesis paper. Attack my ideas where you can or want to, I guess. But, I don't believe you are responsible for your behavior or direction here. And, my next post from another thread regarding this topic wil

The only response that I feel neccessary to dignify is that of DavidK. I truly hope that he is a administator. First of all, I will squash one attempt to slam me by saying that I am complaining because I got a low rating. I am not complaining because I got a low rating. I get very nice and fair ratings on most of my pieces. The reason I started this thread is because I too have seen unfair ratings and many fellow artists are hurting behind them. When I see admins like Jafo, making fun o
Maybe even have the ratings incorporated into the comments. That way a artist can see who gave them their rating. If cruel people in the community want to go around giving bad ratings then maybe the person will at least know who did it. And if the person has a email address listed they can ask why personally. This way the artist can hopefully get constructive feedback.
LET THE COMMUNITY DECIDE WHAT THE RATING SHOULD BE. If it passes moderation leave it alone. That will solve all the rating confusion. Or are the Admins and moderators enjoying their power to squash creativity by putting their own ratings on everything. And, don't tell me politics doesn't play a part in this. Politics, meaning how popular the artist is. How you feel about the work based on your own artistic prowess. Or just, how you feel about it personally. That is all politics.
Well it seems the old same thing here to me. Make fun of people who propose an idea (responses #1 - #5) and try to change the issue to something else, like problems with the old system which you say has been fixed. How does a fixed problem in the past address my current question? So, why do moderators have to rate a skin or wallpaper at all? Let the community do it. That question still hasn't been answered. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smiles/notsure.gif" border=0 ALIGN="
Why does a moderator have to rate a skin at all? Why shouldn't the community decide the rating of a particular piece of artwork. Clearly, a moderator has artistic qualifications that they apply to a skin that will probably be a lot higher than the general public. If a skin passes moderation then let the community decide the rating should be for that skin. This will solve any rating bias or "politics" that an artist feels has been applied to his or her work by an administrator or moderator. And,
Morphium, you could have a corrupted fonts folder. I've seen this mainly happen when a program is uninstalled and the font that is linked to it by the fonts folder is orphan. Also, if your fonts are just shortcuts all over your hard drive this can slow down the fonts folder and maybe crash it. I always choose the option to copy the fonts directly to the fonts folder. That way if you un-install a program, it won't remove the font linked by the fonts folder. Try looking for shortcut symbols in you
I agree with you completely hashonboat. People have feelings about their work. And you deserve an explanation. But, I doubt if you will get one. "Elite" , "hiding in the shadows playing games", "maliciousness", I just love your choice of words. But, with the way you correctly spelled everything, I doubt if you'll get a response since they can't slam you for your spelling errors and make fun of you. I really dislike the way artists are treated here and its the reason I removed all my stuff like o
Personally, I will stop buying CD's totally now. I have heard enough. But, I don't think it is a good idea Doomgaze to say that you have 1000 illegal copies when you could be tracked. Of course the RIAA won't give the statistics because obviously it doesn't support their argument, otherwise they would give them. This just shows how greedy they are. They want to squeeze every penny out of poor college students so that they can get rich. Clearly, the artists don't benefit nearly as much a
Personally, I won't rate a skin that I don't like just to bring down the rating of the skin that a artist clearly spent a lot of time doing. To me that is cruel and unneccessary. But, that is just me. Someone else might really like the skin, and why should I deny anyone the pleasure of seeing it just because I didn't like it. If I can't give a skin a rating of at least an 8, I won't rate it. But, that is just me. I've seen a lot of hurt artists here that spend massive "free" hours on their skins
Swallow your pride now, Bucben. I'm sure you enjoy skinning or you wouldn't be here trying to get consoling for your feelings. Let your work speak for itself and continue to build on your talent and artistry. There will always be jealous people in the world who want to stop you. If you let them, then they have succeeded in destroying you and the happiness that skinning brings to you. Don't let them win. Yes, its all called "Politics". But, it is so silly. Learn to ignore the silly stuff. Come ba
Hmm, I'm still trying to understand the context or revelance of the statement???
I feel for you Bucben, because I was forced to do the same thing too. There are a lot of politics here regardless of what the admins seem to want to portray. I won't mention names and some are kinder than others. I had to do the same thing myself regarding my skins. But, I've found that several non-admins really do appreciate the "free" work that artists share on this site. Maybe there is a lot of favoritism and quote "politics" here but you must understand that it is common throughout the world
If you are using a shareware version you might not get much support. I would still try to contact them first. Personally, I would just delete the windowblinds directory. Then go to add and remove programs and click windowblinds. It will ask to remove the association because nothing is there. If you have a registry cleaner, that is the best way to get the left over registry associations. I would then perform chkdsk on your drive and defragment it as well. Click the start menu, go to run
With most programs that you want to start up with windows, you need to create a shortcut to the .exe file in the startup. You shouldn't move the whole folder. The registry will have awful problems that way.
Hey Doomgaze, Let's Rock!!! It's people like you who make this a very unpleasant community for those of us who really appreciate the hard work of the skinners. They freely share their hard work with us. There are many skins here that don't have the Nvidia label on them. It sounds to me like jealousy, and an attempt to put down the artistic work of the skinners. This only makes the skinners and admins feel negative responses from any comments and they jump on those who have construct
I didn't need this thread from you shmoopy. As great as it was, I just didn't need it. #1, #4 and #6 and #8(on your last WB), really hit home. I feel like a dead dog, but you just won't let me lie. Thanks for the cheer as always.
KarmaGirl, If there is no discussion about a problem then how does the problems get resolved to make it better for the entire community? Madice, If you look at my initial comment, it asked if there was a legitimate impersonal error or if there was something else going on. Of course, this board jumped on the negative, started slamming and bashing, instead of just saying there was a mistake and seeking ways to fairly resolve it. This makes one become defensive. Then, came the attacks, lik
