There was an article in last months issue of Maximum PC that I brought concerning the new graphics cards and its relation to the new features in Directx 9 in review of Half Life 2. It detailed all the differences in older cards back to Nvidia TNT. In fact unless one has a new Directx 9 compliant card, you just won't see everything in the new Directx 9 features. It is a awesome article, about 4 pages. If you see it and like gaming, it will definitely convince you to get a new Directx 9 compliant

To get rid of any recycling bin images or anything, all you need to do is edit the configuration of the sysmetrix skin. You don't need to delete the images. For example most recycle bin files in sysmetrix are dual state images. Click that in the configuration of the skin and highlight and delete the reference for recycle bin and the image will disappear. Nope, it doesn't make sense. I know of no error message that reads, "it isn't going into Shell32" You might get better help using the help board and displaying the correct error message. It sort of sounds like you may be missing important linking system files.

It is probably a system configuration problem. Try optimizing your system for program usage. System properties,advanced,performance settings,advanced, and set to programs for all. That did a major help for me a while ago.

Wow, Dreamdesign3D. You shouldn't have deleted them. I took all my stuff of this site a while ago because of similar problems. But, I didn't delete my work off my hard drive. One great and easy way is to get a digital camera and a scanner. Do some traveling too and let your imagination take the pictures. Then you can try modifying them and playing with them. Nothing looks as good as a real image. That is also a good way to relax and enjoy life away from the computer.

All I can tell you, neophil78, is that I had that same problem with skinstudio crashing in Win98. My system is a PIII 750 and 384Ram. But, it never once has crashed in WinXP. I can't even begin to use DesktopX in Win98. It slows down that system to a crawl. It is clear to me that Windowblinds4 and CursorXP are optimized for WinXP. I never really enjoyed Object Desktop until I got WinXP. I know it seems like an expensive endeavor but, if you really want to enjoy Object Desktop, you will need WinX

Yes, use Spybot search and destroy. Also check the settings in Spybot to find inconsistencies in the registry after it removes the spyware and re-run Spybot a second time. Eliminate that sucker totally. Second, I would consider setting up a Guest account and maybe changing your administrator password. Guests can't normally install software.

I think it depends on what program you used to create the other operating system. I use system commander 7 and I have no problems. I did have to configure my WinXP boot.ini to ignore the other operating system and I used System Commander to hide the partitions for the others operating system. Maybe you could re-start the problem OS in safe mode and try to repair the problem. I recently had that problem. I installed EZ skins on my Win98 system and it contained massive spyware that crashed my Win9

Personally, I think such comments deserve a instant ban from the site. Such comments, do not support the efforts of the skinners in any way. Such language should not be tolerated. This person surely has issues, and cannot present himself in a socially exceptable way. And, the children should not be subjected to such language as acceptable behavior at this site or anywhere else really. Please, do not JUST remove the comments, remove the person. Some people do deserve a warning, I agree.
