all i know is, with sins, i paid $45 for the preorder,as opposed to $40 for the retail price, and i didnt get a damn thing for my $5. i really REALLY hope it doesnt work out the same way this time. im still pretty annoyed about it, and im going to be downright pissed if demigod does me the same way.

is this going to be like sins, where i get screwed out of money because i pre-ordered right at the beginning? if it is, this is absolutely the last pre-order i ever make from stardock...
im down... as ive pointed out in other posts, i suck horribly, but i figure a clan might be a good way to learn and get better... so, if its open to players of all skill levels, id certainly be interested...
thanks for the heads up... maybe they were testing the update checking/notification? if so... it works! :)
same here. i assume an update must be just around the corner...?
im in the same boat as javaslinger... i suck, but im still enjoying it :) i kinda forgot about this game until this weekend, hadnt played since the first beta, and wow... its looking like a real game now... so far i just play the AI, and sometimes i win, mostly i lose, but i think im getting the hang of it. discovering i could upgrade the citadel by accident helped a whole lot though :) im really looking forward to getting the single player part of this game, hopefully thatll le
thanks for adding the manual, i appreciate it!
i bought etherlords today, and while it created a shortcut for the manual, the file isnt there. how can i get the manual? i kinda need it, the in game hints arent the greatest...
cool, thanks... i didnt think there was, since i couldnt find one anywhere, but wanted to be sure...
before i go and start talking about the game somewhere, i just want to check and be sure theres no kind of NDA or anything... and if there is, where i can see it so i know what i can and cant talk about... thanks!
What use do the gods have for gold, though? Don't get me wrong; I would be thrilled if Zeus stopped by my store to buy some Bawls, but if they're as über-powerful as the demigods want to be, doesn't the usage of a physical currency seem pointless?
lol yes, i imagine zeus would be more likely to just shout "give me your bawls, mortal!" then light you up with a thunderbolt :)
first things first: im super happy with this game. even in its extremely limited state, its compelling. i must have played 15 games last night against the AI... that said, my feedback: 1) ai is genuinely terrible, although im sure it will get much attention as time goes on... never came even close to losing a skirmish, even when i didnt have the first clue what i was doing. 2) there needs to be a way to rotate the map. at the fixed camera angle, it can be really really
thats fine, i dont have a problem paying early, i just wanted to be clear that what was stated in the pre-order faq (which i can no longer find) that the money wasnt charged, it was only a hold, was not the case here, thats all. if it was the case, it wouldnt be a problem. its not like getting jacked for an extra $5 is going to break the bank or something, its just the principle of the thing and all that... not that i think that will actually happen, im sure stardock will write me back
ohh ok, i was unaware it wouldnt be carried at retail. well in that case, i dont want the CE then. a cd and poster etc isnt worth $25, not to me anyway. thanks for clearing that up. as for the preorder price... please understand, i didnt "preorder"... i "prePAID"... i was charged $44.95 in july of 2007... not a "hold" or what have you, i used my debit card, the money came out of my account... and ive paid more than the price now... so i DO want the $5 charged back to my card if possible
its the "+s/h" that gets me. id much rather just cancel the stardock order, get my $45 back, walk into gamestop, and walk out with the CE for $50. im not keen on either a) not opting to get the CE and being out the extra $5 ($45 i paid vs $40 MSRP) or b) getting the CE and being out another $20 (+$5 +$15 s/h)... really not trying to rain on the parade or anything, i just think thats kind of an all-around raw deal no matter how you slice it for the folks that showed a good bit of faith b
yeah i sent them an email... thing is im pretty much 100% sure that i didnt pay for the shipped copy (if such a thing was offered at the time) because, like i said, i dont pay shipping for games, i just buy them retail... so since i didnt know there was going to be a CE at the time, i would definitely not have paid for the box, and if i *had* known, i wouldnt have paid at all :) so now im in a little bit of a bind... i really dont want to buy the game twice...
oh no, im not trying to be a little bitch about it or anything, sorry if i sound that way... im just trying to figure out a) how i get my $5 back and b) is there some way to get the CE without shelling out for another $25? really, had i known there was going to be a CE, id have just waited to buy the boxed product instead of prepaying... because id much rather just walk into gamestop and not pay for shipping...
ok ive gone back and looked at the email receipt and it does indeed say "Sins of a Solar Empire (Digital Download Preorder) $44.95 Quantity: 1"... so i guess i didnt get the shipped version... although i dont remember that being an option. a collectors edition CERTAINLY wasnt an option. i kinda really do want the collectors edition... so... i kinda want to cancel the stardock purchase, and just buy the boxed copy in the store... because im not super keen on paying an extra $25 ($10 for
i dunno if i paid for the shipped version or not. near as i remember, there was no option at the time. this was back in june last year. as far as i remember there was only the option of paying $44.95 for the game... none of which answers my question of: where the heck did my $5 go?
same here. i was a little surprised when i saw on shacknews that it was gold, and going for $40... i was like, hang on, im pretty sure i paid more than that... dug out the email receipt and yep, i did. and i also dont get the fancy extras even though i paid in full 9 months ago. i thought, well, maybe i just thought they charged my card, but really they didnt... so i dug up the bank records... no, they did, they charged the full price at the time of the order. so now im a wee b
ok, so i see that sins of a solar empire has gone gold. and that it will be retailing for $39.95. problem is, i prepaid for it, and i paid $44.95. so... what the heck? do i get my $5 back? also, i see that there is going to be a collector's edition for $10 more. how do i get that? do i send you an extra $50 (since youve already got $5 more than the boxed price) and i get upgraded? i think it would really be pretty crappy if i prepaid the game in an effort to support its develop
