I think what I miss the most from my childhood in the 50's and 60's is the sense of optimism. Things were good and we knew they would only get better. We would see to that. Look how that worked out!

As long as the Forums are maintained and New Skinners are encouraged it should be OK. Stardock and Wincustomize have become so interwined, it might as well be formalized.
What happens after August? Can you downgrade? Will there be another Beta? Will beta testers be screwed?

Here's something interesting. I got my registration # for Fences from Look up Serial #s. I went to load it in using the Add Registration and I couldn't find Fences under Desktop or any other category. Needless to say I couldn't get any further. Weird!!

Thanks Zubaz, you are right, Fences is not among my registered products which is suprising since it was before the update. Maybe I did something wrong. How should I correct this?
Impulse updated itself, then crashed. I uploaded the full install, installed it, it now works but doesn't show Fences which I already have installed.

I guess I've been at this too long. I remember the battles between MSDOS and DRDOS. I was there at the birth of OS2 and fought hard to keep it going. In short I've seen and worked with EVERY OS Microsoft has put out. Vista is no worse or buggier(new word) than the others. Its new driver model is problematic with some hardware and software due to lack of developer support, but I've seen that every time. These new OS's always seem to require time to mature (read catch on). Hopefu
The UAC is completely unacceptable to me. I won't use ANY version of windows that does that to me. I'll buy a Mac first (shudder) or find a utility that shuts it down!!
