To create and edit in DesktopX 3 you need to start the "DesktopX Builder". You start it by right clicking the DX icon in the system tray, then "DesktopX Welcome". You should now be faced with a new window where at the far bottom there should be a button labeled "Create". Alternativly you can locate the "DesktopX Builder.exe" file in the DesktopX folder where you installed it. Note, "DesktopX Builder" doesn't come with the Client version of DesktopX 3.

Makes me a bit paranoid. Got a Maxtor HD on this machine. All though it's my parents, I am the one that have to keep this thing alive. Not allways easy to do while I am studying in a different country...

I made a textbox object for DesktopX. At first I scripted it in JScript, but realised that VBScript would be a better choice. However, I thought someone might be interested in see how the old version worked, espesially since I haven't seen too many JScript objects around, so I didn't delete the old one when I uploaded the new one. But for some reason the old object is beeing downloaded alot more than the new one. I updated the description of the fi

Paul Thurrott just published an article with information about Longhorn Server. All the features of the Longhorn client will of course be there, with the except of Aero, the new user interface. Some of the keywords of interest are application publishing, network quarantine, ISS 7.0, hot-patching and image-based setup and deployment tools. Whether it ships with WinFS or not is unconfirmed. It's current expected release date is early 2007.

Adding 3D to programs haven't been the easiest to do. That's what Avalon tried to fix my implementing support for 3D graphics just as easy as 2D graphics. The source for Avalon info would be Microsofts site on avalon: http://msdn.microsoft.com/Longhorn/understanding/pillars/avalon/default.aspx One of the article you find there talks about how Avalon support 3D http://msdn.microsoft.com/Longhorn/understanding/pillars/avalon/default.aspx

That's a good idea. No need for an endless number of the same object just with different graphics like with alot of the rest you find here. Are you going to add some more skins then for the release?

The textbox has been accepted and is availible. Let me know if you should find more issues. Not sure if Firefox support VBScript. Haven't tried it. But for websited I use JavaScrip because I think it's suported on more platforms thatn VBScript.

I wish I didn't have that many clocks. I don't have a watch because I just use my mobile. The owen got a clock, the radio, the stereo, the car, the TV, the DVD player and every other little electronic gadget. They keep stuffing in a clock in everything. The only thing that manages to keep track of time it self is the computer. My mobile got a setting to automaticly update the time, but it doesn't say under what cirkumstances it does and I've never seen

Changing file extention form .jpg to .bmp will not help you much. The file extention is nothing but a idicator of what type of file it is. Jpegs and bmp files are two different formats and the data is stored differently. You must open the jpeg in a graphics program and then "Save As..." .bmp . This will convert the file to the appropriate format.
