This is gonna sound really stupid, but I didnt get a floppy drive with my computer. I actually saved myself $50 by doing that. So if I boot from the XP disc I have, and choose Format from the options list, will it reformat the drive? When I say format, I mean I want NOTHING left. I want to do a clean install of XP. C'mon! What about Shania Twain ( )? You guys gotta like her. And Avril Lavigne. We've got some wicked good talent coming out of Canada these days. Not to mention mad cows.

Ok. To reformat the drive, I get into the DOS prompt and type "format c:" correct? Then I have to insert the XP cd after it is done, and tell the computer to boot from cd. This will give me my installation options. I'm guessing I hit "install" or something like that?

Ok, I'll disable messenger right after the reformat, which I will be doing on wednesday, as its my only free day this week. I'll grab the last of my important stuff off it before I do the reformat. I suppose this will be a learning experience for me since I've neve a) had a computer so badly screwed up that there was no hope for repair and b) had to do a reformat. So it'll be fun. <img src="http://imag

Hmm. I managed to get into my Event Viewer in Administrative tools. Apparently, when those pop-ups showed up, some aspect of the Remote Desktop Connection was activated. Thats looking to be the source of my problems possibly. you didn't have your firewall on We have a router with a built-in hardware firewall. <TABLE cellpadding=8
