mine weights over 22 kilo Holy cow! Thats as much as my sister!
I'm done. I've got my internet up and and running and I'm happy to say that I'm typing this from the newly reformatted computer. Thanks for your help guys!
'Course they're mad. It's - 40 with the wind chill c242: Have you heard of the Arrogant Worms?
So I can do "quick" then? Nevermind, got the answer.... [Message Edited]
I now have two options for the new windows partition: NTFS file system (Quick) NTFS file system Whats the difference? [Message Edited]
So I want to delete my current partition right?
you can make a bootdisk Yeah I know, but do I need one? If I can do it all with the stuff I have, whats the point?
This is gonna sound really stupid, but I didnt get a floppy drive with my computer. I actually saved myself $50 by doing that. So if I boot from the XP disc I have, and choose Format from the options list, will it reformat the drive? When I say format, I mean I want NOTHING left. I want to do a clean install of XP. C'mon! What about Shania Twain ( )? You guys gotta like her. And Avril Lavigne. We've got some wicked good talent coming out of Canada these days. Not to mention mad cows.
Ok. To reformat the drive, I get into the DOS prompt and type "format c:" correct? Then I have to insert the XP cd after it is done, and tell the computer to boot from cd. This will give me my installation options. I'm guessing I hit "install" or something like that?
It hurts to laugh that hard!
I thought so too Essencay. Anyways, I am about to ask a question thats probably pitifully easy for you guys to answer. It must be really easy, since I cant seem to find it through google. Ready? Here it comes....... How do I actually do the reformat?
u cant hack my hdd while im gone if i have it with me Yep thats for sure. I'll have to make sure that I get my serial numbers for all my stardock stuff off before I start. Losing them wouldnt be very good! <img src="http://images.stardock.com/im
So's your attitude, Ender. Sounds good! I like using the BootSkins. Good work, people!
Ok, I'll disable messenger right after the reformat, which I will be doing on wednesday, as its my only free day this week. I'll grab the last of my important stuff off it before I do the reformat. I suppose this will be a learning experience for me since I've neve a) had a computer so badly screwed up that there was no hope for repair and b) had to do a reformat. So it'll be fun. <img src="http://imag
Facinating....tricorder readings indicate it to be a primitive transportation device. This device was more commonly known as a "motorcycle."
Hmm. I managed to get into my Event Viewer in Administrative tools. Apparently, when those pop-ups showed up, some aspect of the Remote Desktop Connection was activated. Thats looking to be the source of my problems possibly. you didn't have your firewall on We have a router with a built-in hardware firewall. <TABLE cellpadding=8
"The specific error code is 0x000006ba (The RPC server is unavailable.)." I get an error when I try to run the file checker.
If you have purchased a stardock product, then you should have a little piece of paper with a pencil on it in an icon beside the "quote" and "watch" buttons.
