There are meanwhile countless examples of other activities which are harmful to people which are banned, regardless of whether you argue there is presumed consent or not
Can I assume you are not from the US?
Ditto for me,plus I use DXThemes and hide my desktop icons but not everyone does so it's all about choices.
Exactly. That is what customization is all about- choices. For me, I use Object Dock to launch most of my programs, but I like to use my desktop as a "dump". Fences then gives me the ability to clean up my dump without having to hide all my icons. It's not for everyone in the same way that DesktopX and Object Dock aren't for everyone.
Nice to see you around, Dharma! I'll be interested in reading your other stories!
I don't know of any concerts where you're allowed to turn up as a member of the audience and start your excessively loud music that damages the hearing of everyone around you
I think you missed how that example applies. Concerts are held at privately owned establishments. A band then plays at the establishment and (typically) plays music loud enough to harm your hearing. People then pay to listen to the music that is harming their hearing. At tha
1. There are plenty of pubs that don't play loud music. But there was no single pub in Dublin that prohibited smoking
And there lies your disconnect with us talking about US law- in the US there ARE bars and restaurants that are smoke free by choice. So, as a consumer, you have the choice to either go to one that does or does not have smoking in it.
I assure you that while I consent to hearing loud music when I enter a bar that plays loud music, I do NOT ever consent to OTHER people smoking next to me.
That's interesting. So, assuming that both are legal, then how is one different from the other? The loud music could harm your hearing, so why is it not banned? Is it only an issue because you see it as an issue? What makes consent of one harm different than the other? Both do harm and b
This is just one step toward socialized medicine. We're slippin' on the slope! Think of a large picture of this one- The Big 3. Just GM alone is asking for 30 Billion in Federal Aid. They plan to lay off 47,000 people. Say only 10,000 of those are in the US. They now have to pay the upfront costs of 65% of those 10,000 employee's COBRA, then wait for the tax return on it. How does that help keep the company afloat? Why don't we just keep stick
If we let the "market" set the rules for harmful actions you will quickly notice that people will murder each other because the market fails to come up with an incentive for violent people not to murder.
I am sure that smoking in public is the same as murder in most people's minds. Just like comparing smoking around children to shooting them or running them over with your car. Man, talk about comparing apples to oranges. America USED to be a democracy.&
I don't remember seeing or hearing the downfall of our country in the manner it is being predicted right now.
Really? Because it just seems like the same old crap, just another President. I think you just view it differently because this is a President that YOU stand behind. Perspective makes a difference.
This whole conversation seems to be running in circles. Having somebody outside the US try to have a stand on US law doesn't work for me, either. The US was founded on personal freedom- the freedom of choice. Now, nobody is forced to work in a bar. I don't like bars- I don't work in one. I also don't like heights, so I don't work in construction. I really don't like dead animals, so I don't work at the Humane Society. People can choose where they want to
Jafo keeps sending us blow-up things from Australia- maybe he can help you find one, BoXXi.
It'll keep you from stroking out, too. LOL
I looked into this, and the emails that you are getting don't have serial numbers. The ones that you are NOT getting are the ones WITH serial numbers. I can assume that you have a filter that is catching the numbers and seeing them as something to reject. I sent you two emails this morning- one with Melissa's reply from the 10th and one without (no serials) so that you can try and track down the issue. As an FYI- if you respond to your own ticket multiple times, it
You want to hear something funny that I heard on the news? Her Mom told her that she wouldn't be there when she got home with the 8 kids. She was barely keeping it together helping with the 6, but now she wants nothing to do with helping take care of all of them. I'm sure Extreme Makeover will build her a house and her community will buy diapers and her church will volunteer. Ack.
It really appears that nobody read about this before posting. Here's a good link: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/northamerica/usa/4413804/Mother-of-octuplets-had-all-her-14-children-by-IVF.html So- she's divorced. ALL of her kids were through IVF. The last eight were AFTER the divorce and while living with her paren
Better to release new skins instead of showing old ones, promise to give some 10-12 a year was not fulfilled...
It hasn't been a year yet ;)
But in reality I got only some 3-4 per year being a subscriber...
Since we started the different subscription format, it's only been about 9 months, During that time, we released 6 subscriber premiums. One of those 6 (Halloween) was a complete suite.
I'm not an Obama fan, however, I think it might take more than a week or two for us to actually see anything happen. I might be crazy, but I would wager that not much will happen this year...or nest...or possibly the next.
trying not to single anyone out, but a few people here should develope thicker skins. If they can't, then they will always think they are being picked on
I agree with that. That was a lesson I learned very quickly when I started chatting online and especially on irc. Some of the things that have been said to me over the years has been way past being "picked on". LOL But, it's part of life- not everyone gets along. Like I tell my 10 year old
quote]I've never used any laptop other than a Thinkpad, and absolutely LOATHE any other sort of pointing device.
You know, I tried to replace my ThinkPad habit with a Dell Latitude. It's their business line laptop, and it has a "control point" (or some other name) nub on it. It's also one of the few laptops that they offer that you can dock. That lasted about 6 months. Now I'm back to a ThinkPad.
you'll understand the big difference bet
Day 4 ... still no communication ... My water's about run out and I just had to eat the dog ... hopefully I'll get some help soon.
I looked up your ticket and was only able to find one (which was handled by sales). It appears that Melissa answered you asking for more info on the 21st (less than 24 hours after you sent in the request). You replied the next day, then she sent you a notice on the 23rd that they were merged. If you a

What Weather docklet is it? If it is in a MyColors theme, which one?
