Well, partially, but they have issues. The way victory points currently work seems somewhat "soulless" to me-- it isn't always clear who wins and why and when, judging from how the game felt and looked. Plus I sometimes get surprised by the "Victory!" or "Defeat!" dialogs, and then am somewhat disappointed that the game is over.
I totally agree on this point. I often have the same problem where I am engaged in a bat
To reduce the "mop up" problem, I'd like to see a "power balance" game ending condition. For a two player game, for example, one player wins as soon as they have superior economy and military, where "superior" would be configurable (factors 1.5, 2, 4, ...). Of course, the "imbalance" factor would need to be visualized (always, or only when close to the configured threshold).
Isn't this what Victory Points accomplish?
I have found that when clicking near a resource node that you control it will sometimes interpret that click as an attack move on the node, which causes your army to do nothing because you already control that node. Thanks. I didn't know that was how it worked.
When playing this map it doesn't seem to matter how many Turinium generators I have control of my VP level stays a zero. The AI opponent however can generate turinium with just one generator. I am new to this game so I may be doing something wrong but on this map there is a generator right outside the starting area and I have no issues keeping it connected to nodes leading back to my nexus. Also I have been able to get Turinium on other maps.
Hello, I played AOTS for the first time yesterday and it worked great. I probably shutdown and relaunched it several times without issues. Today I tried to play it again and it wouldn't start with either DX11 or DX12. I browsed to the steamapps location and tried launching the executables directly and they complained that I was missing the MSVCR110.dll. I repaired some sort of Visual Studio Redist and then the game launched successfully (from steam) but the game had this bri
