Men: See it or not, admit it or not, those kinds of cartoons use the face of a child on a grown woman's full figure body. After a while, through repeted viewing, we (men) become accustomed to such an unnatural combination and start to take it for granted. Naturally aroused by the body, we start to develop a taste for extreme youthful faces, therefore leaning slowly and u

I might be starting a bit of skinning again after my real-life hiatus. Things went pretty badly with the girl I downed my tools for and I'm going through a bit of a rough patch at the moment. Then the other day I started fiddling with that old GANT skin and it managed to take my mind off things for a while. So it looks like skinning is exactly the therapy I need right now to take my mind off real life. Here's a mini-preview of the latest version. Things are a little less outline-heavy t

I keep seeing people saying that that image is of a young girl's head on an older woman's body, but I can't recall the last time I saw a young girl with giant eyes and such a tiny mouth. It's just a stylised representation of a girl in her late teens to early 20s, and anyone who sees anything else in that image needs to ask themselves why. I too find it more disturbing that there are people who look at that picture and think 'pre-pubescent girl' than I do the picture itself. It's true t

If you really want someone to produce a carbon copy of your design Styl, I'll gladly oblige. It should take me all of about 10 minutes in Fireworks. I think Hippy was just proving that gradients can be used to create 3D effects, and while his isn't the same as yours visually it certainly looks more 3D. We're not deliberately being nasty about your work, but when you make a claim as bold as the one y

It's not the tools you use, but what you do with them that counts. Take a look at my two most recent skins Styl and tell me you can't get a 3D look with gradients. I don't even use Photoshop... Regarding your '3D' skin, I agree with Hippy & co. What you've produced could easily be replicated in Photoshop using simple gradients, bevels and drop shadows. The bottom part of the Start menu is just a ver

LordCobalt >> Try uploading some of your work at http://www.deviantart.com . Whereas this site is intended more as a collection of high-quality completed work, DeviantArt tends to be a good place to upload 'in-progress' work and get feedback from other artists. Just don't expect the feedback to always be of the constructive variety.

Just to add to my comments above, I seem to remember upon the release of the freeware ObjectDock Brad commenting that they weren't including it in Object Desktop simply because it was so obviously meant to mimic Apple's dock that they couldn't in good conscience (and intelligent legal standing no doubt ) be seen to be charging for it. If this was the only reason it was kept out of Object Desktop, why are we

I hate to be one to agree with the 'cheap' folk, but I'm slightly disappointed that this isn't part of ODNT too. The way I see it, this is simply an overhaul of TabLaunchpad, which has been part of ODNT for years, integrating all the eye-candy from the freeware ObjectDock. The closer you make this to TabLaunchpad, the more disgruntled customers you're going to have claiming that you're charging them for an update which was supposed to be free. This is a trend I'm seeing increasingly the

Well done to all the winners! :) Just a few thoughts for those whinging WinAmp folk. Do you need to know how to play a piano to appreciate good piano music? Do you need to have a degree in engineering to know a well-constructed building? Do you need to be a gourmet chef to have an opinion on the quality of food? The technical skills of the individual judges are irrelevant. This contest is about opinions, and nothing more. You can spend 100 days making a terrible skin, but does that entitle yo

Here we go again... Everybody group up on latin its not like he cares Just calm down a bit and try to limit your posts to constructive discussion. Remember that this isn't a chat site and people tend to get annoyed by those who post too much too quickly. If you want to upload your video/screensaver somewhere, there are other sites

I've had it happen on occasion too.Never figured out what caused it. I just put it down to being one of XP's less endearing 'features'....... The thing is, I'm positive that it didn't happen up until a few months ago. When I first started developing skins for XP I didn't notice any unresponsivness. I wonder if perhaps it could be down

I'm posting this here, rather than on the help or skinning boards, because I'm not sure where the problem actually originates from. Since a few months ago I've noticed that clicking the mouse on titlebar buttons of windows has become increasingly unresponsive. Initially I just ignored it, thinking it to be a temporary issue with the current WindowBlinds build which would be fixed relatively quickly. It's now been a problem for such a long time however that I'm starting to wonder if it's

If you received an email, seemingly from PayPal support, telling you that you need to verify your account within the next 5 days, don't do it! I have to admit that I almost fell for it myself, even with the knowledge of previous PayPal scams. The email is that convincing. If you do end up completing the process this email describes, you'll not only lose control of your account, but also any funds you have and any credit cards attached to the account. For your reference
