I had to do an inplace reinstall of windows 10, keeping all apps and user files (which went very well !!). I have 4 universal apps from the windows store - Facebook, Twitter, Netflix and Wunderlist. The double entries were Twitter and Wunderlist

Ok found it - duplicate entry under users\username\roaming\stardock\S10 - all sorted now ...

Notice that i have a couple of universal apps which are duplicated in the Start\All Programs\Universal Applications\ menu - there is no option to delete. How can i tidy this up ?

Thanks for your support Neil, I have added the Netflix.App bit and its working now. You are correct there is two entries in the universal apps list.

Hi All, Have updated the Netflix app to 6.2.25 this morning. If i select the Netflix from the Universal App menu in Start10, the screen "flashes" but Netflix doesn't load. If i select WSindows 10 menu mode from Start10 - then run Netflix it works fine. Anyone else see any issues like this ? Any ideas on a fix ? Thanks ...

Thanks for the response, I too am surprised that there is a relationship - but the evidence is that when the "right click" stops working, I simply run a batch file which unloads and then restarts Start8 which rectifies the issue. However an office repair also solves the problem ! Just to be clear, no reboot is required, just unload and then load again straight away, a reboot would also work- but takes longer. I will endeavor to reproduce the effect. Thanks, Nigel

Hi All, I have noticed an issue with the "right click" functionality in office 2010 applications, since updating to Windows 8.1. If you right click, the menu appears for a second or so and then disappears. After some trouble shooting - it looks like this is related to Start8, as if you stop (using Start8 UNLOAD) and then restart, the correct right click functions are restored. It is somewhat intermittent - anyone else seeing this ? Running Start8 Ver. 1.3 and Windows 8.1 x64

#sean_drohan is correct, start 8 adds the start menu to windows 8 desktop only. You will have to make a decision, either boot the computer to the metro environment and leave your start menu structure behind OR use boot to desktop with Start 8. Its one or the other. Just to add to the confusion, you could install another stardock program - modernmix which would allow you run metro applications in the desktop environment. I hope this helps ....

Hi Bill, I can sympathize entirely with you - and had the same issue when my new company laptop came with Windows 8. The Metro interface simply doesn't work with enterprise software. I have tried a number of shell replacements, and Start 8 is by far the simplest to use / install and offers all the customization and functionality you need to work "old school" style ...
