Faster start up? in Personal Computing WinCustomize Forums

I sent my new computer back because I was having to many problems with it. In the meantime while I'm waiting for another one I hooked my old one back up. I ran this thing called eraser on it (because I didn't think I was going to use it again) and for some reason it starts real slow. It didn't use to. So I tried all the regular things like defragment, disc cleanup, error check, msconfig, and it still starts slow. Is there anything else I can try or am

Widget problem in DesktopX WinCustomize Forums

Does anybody know why when I go to load my see through clock widget none of the clock hands show? When I import the widget it's alright. Same thing with a weather object that has a digital clock on it. The clock doesn't show unless I import it. Any suggestions?

DX 3 problem (screwing computer up) in DesktopX WinCustomize Forums

Does anybody know why Dx would cause me to have many problems? The problems are scripts disappearing, mouse doesn't respond correctly, websites don't display right, won't print (online only). I know this because before I installed dx I created a restore point when everything was working fine. I had an optical wireless mouse with keyboard on my old system and tried using it on the new one, but started using the one they sent me with computer to see if that was the problem. Ordered new wireless optical mouse with keyboard thats compatible with system. Also I got an external cd burner, because I didn't think about it when I ordered the computer, to back some things up but ended up taking it back . Ordered one from dell thats for my system. Ma

Haven't installed anything other than the programs that worked fine on my old computer, no yellow or red marks in device manager. Have all latest updates and it came with service pack 2. Haven't installed any new drivers at all. But I did hook up the mouse and keyboard that came withh it ( it sucks). but will see if problem still occurs..

Just got a new computer and still have the old mouse and keyboard hooked up to it and was just wondering if it isn't compatible could it cause all kinds of problems.The problem is when it happens is that websites displays and certain functions don't work. Like for instance the left click works on some things and not others and on websites the drop down menus at the top aren't there. Outlook express welcome page completely disappears. I'ts only here mainly and I've noticed some things on other sites won't click on either also on some sites I've noticed at the top of the page there is no display. Like on dell website it used to have a list at the top to choose from , now it's not there. It seems to only be an internet explorer glitch. When I'm not online everything works ok. It's a new microsoft mouse and keyboard and the left and right click are on their default settings..Also when I click on the place where it says downloads it just goes to the top of the page.
