I think the longer the trade route the more profitable it will be. ~SDC~

Or just listen to Frogboy....above. Didn't see his post :)
There is. You can install it and run it from StarDockCentral. Just make sure your desktop is set to 16bit colour.
Try Menu-->Message Options-->User defined playlist-->load playlist for the mp3 player. 1024x768 is the only resolution as far as I'm aware. ~SDC~
Well, with multimedia my galciv directory is c.541 Mb. ~SDC~
Just wondering how big the Galciv multimedia directories should be. The game runs fine, but whenever I install the multimedia, it stops downloading about 3 Meg short of the total file size. It then decomparesses the files but seems to stop about halfway through. The intro movies etc play, just wondering if its installed the whole thing. Thanks, ~SDC~
If you go to tools --> edit stardock.net account and enter your email and password for this forum that should do the trick....I think. ~SDC~
If you right click on the component you want to install, ---> Archive ---> Restore Existing, might do the trick. ~SDC~
Double-click on the colony ship's icon at the bottom right of the screen, while its in orbit around your planet. There should be a slider with "loading troops" above it, and a "launch icon". That should do the trick. ~SDC~
I'm pretty certain you should be able to archive the files, even if you installed them normally....at least I could. However, I don't think the archive feature is working fully yet. There's a bug with the versioning when re-installing the Multimedia from an archive. Not sure if it applies to everyone, but I ran into it. Apparently they'll have a fix availiable some time today. ~SDC~
I might be wrong, haven't tried it myself, but have you tried the "user defined playlist" on the right hand side ?? ~SDC~
Still young and impudent (relativley), at 23. ~SDC~
Seems to be fluctuating quite a bit. Somewhere between 5-45kb/sec (on 512kbs DSL). Average seems to be c. 20kb/sec. ~SDC~
Seems to be up for some of the Drengin.net people too. I just missed the beta period, but I'm downloading it now :) Oh yeah, thanks to everyone at Stardock for your hard work....just wish my DSL was faster ;) ~SDC~
Thanks, worked like I charm :) ~SDC~
I may just be being stupid but I can't seem to get the discussion boards to work under SDC. None of the threads or boards show up under the discussion tab. If I check the settings under Tools --> Settings --> Discussion I get an error informing me that I have to subscribe to at least 1 discussion board, but there aren't any available in the list. I'm running SDC 0.99.138. Just wondering if anyone had any ideas? Cheers,
As far as I'm aware you get 1 year of GalCiv updates no matter how you purchase the game, whether its retail or direct, GalCiv alone or Drengin.net. :)
London, UK.
I'm fairly new here so I might have this wrong, though I'm sure someone will correct me if I do... Apparently "It will be $44.95 plus $5 shipping if you live in North America, or $10 shipping elsewhere." You can check this out at www.galciv.com/direct.htm, I think. There will also be a download only option, through Stardock Central, if you don't want to pay for shipping. I live in the UK as well and recently purchased the subscription to Drengin.net (
Saw it mentioned on the Stardock website when buying Object Desktop / Windowblinds...then in the MOO3 box...then on the MOO3 forum.
