My brother and I just had this exact same issue this morning. We are using the Epic Games Store version of the game. We started a game a few days ago and saved it after three turns. We returned today to continue playing. I hosted it on my Intel i9 9900K system. My brother got the spinning galaxy load screen. We rebooted the game a few times. I usually update my Start8 as soon as I see an update. v1.45 has broken my system. I use a custom icon. It is now gone. I can only get to the original Win8 menu. This is really a pain. Its like the Start8 menu is not installed, except that the Start8 icon (original) is there, but calls up the Win8 menu. All my key reassignments are gone. The only way I can run Start8 config menu is to run it from Search or Win8 menu. Right clicking on Start8 icon shows the Win8 popup menu. This update
