Techno, Have you messed around with the compatibility settings for the app rather than just outright blocking it altogether? It might provide some insight to the devs and maybe a possible solution in there somewhere. It might be something to try while you await an official response. It's helped me in the past, at least. Didn't see a better place for this so I figured I'd toss it in here. It's not a major issue or anything but opening SkinStudio and bringing up one of the edit dialog's for instance "Edit per pixel frames" pulls up the dialog without a parent HWND set which ties hotkeys to the desktop instead of the application. The side effect of this is that windows related hotkeys such as F5 that handles refreshing windows get hooked into the dialog regardless of SkinStudio being
Yeah, I think you'd have to run 8 to be able to fix it. I played around with a lot of the frame sizing/position but could never figure out what was causing the overlap effect. There's other themes that don't have it however so I imagine I might be able to just open one of them up in SkinStudio and figure out what the difference was. Thanks for the font name. In most cases, there's never been problems with moving profiles off the same disk. In fact, it's included in the Win2012 server performance guide. It's generally been pretty standard for years as long as you do it properly which is generally through the install process. Neil, Got an update for you. Granted I still think MMix64.dll in the secondary Explorer is a problem, I did find some helpful information after a long hunt that may help other users in the future. It never made any sense to me that my GPU memory would be the problem triggering the message since I barely can use up 10% of it so I assumed this was just an artificially manufactured problem. There's also a program named "Bear" that will do totals for each GDI handle
@Jafo, I think he's actually following your instructions in this one instance. To quote him: "I also installed WB on my laptop (with an i5 2nd generation and a 7.2Krpm hdd). I have 2 partitions on it but the 2nd one is just for data storage, not for system files like Users folder." Hey mkanet, Do you ever get the really strange problem where your program's icons on your windows sometimes gets mixed up? Like sometimes I'll have Spotify running along with Chrome or another and one of the programs will randomly start using the other's icon on the window and taskbar. Seems to happen like yours the longer things run and fixes itself when restarting it, too.
Jafo, That's actually the very reason why I asked how he did his installation ;) If it was a move within OOBE's installation process then it would've handled it perfectly assuming this wasn't some sort of upgrade and a fresh install instead. Anything else would require the offline creation of a symlink between volumes which tends to be such a pain which I've found any reason I could to procrastinate doing it myself which has been about 3 months now. :p<
Actually, you always have to keep in mind the possibility that some programs don't use the environment variables or locations set in the registry properly and simply make assumptions. More than likely its relying on the Documents library's inclusion ability (can right click on it and click Properties) to have public show up. Pull up regedit for the hell of it and goto this key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Stardock\WindowBlinds\WB5.ini\Install
@ sambastrakan Since you went the OOBE route, then yeah all your links should be properly setup. It's still possibly to have missing links if you did it manually and not notice program problems since most links are generated for program backward compatibility while you may not run any of them or often. Obviously I'm not referring to W
