No predefined battleship classes? in Galactic Civilizations IV GalCiv4 Forums

Searched the forums and did not see anything pertaining to this. After researching battleship doctrine, no predefined battleship classes appear in my shipyard construction options. I had to create my own ship designs for this class. Is this normal?
