OK guys, the latest Fences 3.0.9.11 seems to be a bit happier with Windows 10 or whatever is giving it a hard time. I started from scratch and if I am patient I can get the Fences to change from the default dark green to a different colour. As long as the sliders are not moved to give full transparency, intensity, tint and saturation, then the colour changes - it's a bit hit and miss as the the colour though! It's not working 100%, but it's a big improvement. I cannot make any suggest

Hi AzDude, could you please read your posts - One, Two, Three, Five and Ten. We discussed this matter Saturday and yesterday, which makes me wonder if there is more than one person using the name AzDude. I purged my Fences, at your suggestion. I installed a new Fences at your suggestion. I also replied that it didn't work. You even posted a picture of your desktop, see post #10. Just look up, they are all just there! It's not working properly. Is there any point in me coming back to c

Hi Guys, still having problems changing colour on Fences. Hope you are still looking for a solution as it leaves this programme not working as it should. Also, when I purged the installation before re-installing, it lost everything on the second screen. So - it's not working correctly. Have a good one.

Never one to give in easily, I have installed Fences 3.09.11. It is an improvement in that the first 3 Fences changed colour, but not easily. I had to keep opening and closing the app. However the new Fences I make have defaulted to dark green and stubbornly refuse to change colour. I'm sure you will agree, an improvement BUT still faulty. I leave it with you. PS How do you add an attachment on this forum?

Hi Basj, did you actually read my post? Please read it and you will see that I stated that I have tried moving the sliders, to no effect. The Fences remain BLACK. I have also tried purging the install and re-installing, also to no effect. (See AzDude reply above.) I have also tried using an earlier install, to no effect. The Fences remain BLACK. Thanks for the prompt reply AzDude. Sadly, that didn't work. The first Fence changed colour after I closed the app. However, the rest that I made are all black and just will not change colour, even when I move all the sliders to different settings. Also sadly, the 100+ icons I had stored in the Fences were released on the desktop when Fences was purged. Nasty mess on the desktop! So any other ideas? [e digicons]:([/e]

I am having trouble changing Fences colour. I create a new Fence and it comes up black. It does not change colour when I move the cursors but occasionally changes colour after I have closed the application. I am using Windows 10 and I have tried re-installing Fences, but still get the same problem. Would appreciate any suggestions that don't involve personal abuse! Thanks for reading.

Folder Portal in Fences Stardock Forums

If I create a Folder Portal on my desktop and make a Folder Portal with folders from my D drive, are the folders shortcuts or does it copy the actual folders. This matters as I want to make a Folder Portal of my music, which is about 100GB and I don't want it copied. Many thanks for any answer.

HLT, thanks for the interest. I have actually tried a lot of what you suggest. I had so many turrets that you could walk from one end of my empire to the other on the top of them! I kept my fleet behind them and it did help for a time. I think, as you suggest, I was trying to do too much at once. In my next attempt, I built the biggest fleet as fast as I could and stuck it in a chokepoint. That was a good plan until the AI arrived with a bigger fleet. I kept retreating until there was

The last couple of games I had 3 planets and a couple of asteroids. My fleet was one capital ship and about 40 frigates organized in two fleets. The opposition arrived with a mixed fleet and didn't give numbers, makes or models. They just destroyed everything. The question is, once your fleet is destroyed is there any point in going on as there is no way to defend yourself from the opposition? So I just quit as soon as that happens. I suspect I need to research more carefull

No, it's just normal and I turned the pirates off to get to know the game first. I have a capital ship and about 40 frigates. The AI turns up with a bigger fleet, destroys mine and that's the end of the game. I must be doing something wrong that I get beat so easily? [e digicons]>:([/e]

I have played 1v1 a couple of times to get the game idea. Good game, fun but perhaps I am not quite getting it right. I grab a few planets as quick as I can and develop them and build a fleet as fast as possible. And here is where it all goes wrong. When the bad guys come, and they always do. They always have bigger, stronger and more developed fleets than me. I get wiped out and after my fleet is gone, there is no point in continuing with the game as there is nothing I can do to stop
