I have set my timezone to GMT+2 but at the moment message timestamps do not agree with reality, they are a hour ahead of local clocks. I presume the standard timezone incorporates DST, however the time zone I am in does not use DST. Under Windows my timezone is listed as UTC+2 Harare, Pretoria. Can this timezone be added to Stardock's Forums?

Will ShadowFX install and run under Windows 10? Your promotional pages are confusing. On one page it says that ShadowFX is for Windows 8 only, and on another that Windows 10 and Windows 8 are supported. Which is correct?

I intend to upgrade my PC to Windows 10 sometime after the public release. What is the best way to handle the Start8 to Start10 transition? I have licences for both. Should I uninstall Start8 before the upgrade, perform the upgrade and then install Start10, or do the upgrade before the uninstall/install? Thanks for any information.

Problem Solved. I forgot to mention that I was also running DisplayFusion Pro 7.1. In DF there is a parameter to move the Win+X menu to the cursor position. Now I have disabled this parameter all seems well. I believed that the parameter should only have an effect when the Win+X keys are pressed, not when the cursor is used to call up the menu.

I already keep a good eye on all autostart programs. I have no adware or spyware, as indicated by various scans. All of the software I have installed is from reputable houses, no back street specials. That's not to say there can't be any bugs, but it is unlikely. By the way, under Windows 8.1, MSCONFIG no longer provides a means of changing the startup programs; it's now done from Task Manager.

Often when I right click the start button and the Win+X menu opens, it closes again before I can select an entry. Usually if I repeat the right click the menu will open and remain, ready for my selection. I have the relevant option selected on the Desktop/Advanced screen. Am I missing some option here or do I have a deeper problem? I am running Start8 1.5 and WindowBlinds 8.1 under Windows 8.1 Pro x64.

I have recently reinstalled WindowBlinds 8.06 onto Windows 8.1 Pro x64, and I am using the Lantana skin. When I access the "Safely Remove" menu from the Notification area, I cannot see the second line for each device. I believe that all that needs to be done is to change the relevant font colour. Would some kind soul please explain how I could do this?

Can someone please tell me what has changed in this release of Start8? I have seen no details on the release. Is it for Windows 10? Will it work on Windows 8.1?

A registry key is not needed. Go to Control Panel/Ease of Access/Use the computer without Display and turn off the Narrator.

Go into Start8 Configuration and to the Configure tab. Adjust "Allocate room for at least" until you reach the menu size required.

Hi, I'm running Windows 8.1 Pro on a laptop with a secondary monitor. Both monitors are the same resolution (1920 x 1080) but when I open an application to full-screen on the secondary monitor I lose the very top of the screen. The loss isn't very much but I lose half the control buttons in the top right corner. Changing skins doesn't seem to change the status. What do I need to do to get WindowsBlinds operating properly?
