[quote who="MindlessMe" reply="3" id="3566494"] @atmorell Like Andre said, engineers add the ability to repair structures and speed up production so removing them would actually hurt more than help. They really just need a movement speed buff right now. I mean they could allow construction on reactive nodes and regions other than the seed starting area, but to balance it out it would have to be expensive and slow building. @No_Menace The
Just so everyone knows what I am talking about, here are the current two icons: http://i.imgur.com/WRaleUH.jpg http://i.imgur.com/hVNgyq4.jpg The latter image is the "attack" icon. I was suggesting a system a bit more similar to Homeworld: http://i.imgur.com/WsxfqhR.png <a href="http://i.imgur.com/
Some things I found: Light sources are visible in unexplored territory: http://i.imgur.com/EH3dAHo.jpg Map borders are also visible: http://i.imgur.com/CoGSQd2.jpg There was one engineer who seemed to be stuck in the seed. I couldn't select him by clicking on the unit itself. When I tried to move him via the icon in the upper left hand corner he
On the resources note, it currently seems far easier to win through victory points rather than actually destroying the enemies' seed. I'm not sure if this is the intended balance though.
One small suggestion: When you command a unit / group to move or attack, you get a little blue icon where you clicked. Its really hard to tell whether the unit will be moving or attacking. How about a system more like Homeworld? When you click to move / attack you get a dotted red or green line (to indicate attack or move respectively) leading to the target. This could also show the unit's path to the target. What do you guys think?
Arcturus_314 please!
That's probably the best option. At the high end Nvidias new GTX 970 is a really good choice. Alternatively the GTX 960 would do a good job, or on the AMD side an R9 285.
Actually, try running the GPU-Z utility. It'll give you very detailed information about your graphics card (including actual VRAM specs).
I think you were talking about me there. I'm guessing the reason I experienced crashes was because of my incredibly uncommon graphics card- its an alpha game, these issues are to be expected. Anyway, remember the game us nowhere near completion. There will be crashes, there will be incompatibility issues- it's what happens this early in the development process. Letting the devs know about the issue is good, but rember that this is a part of what you signed up fo
Not sure if this is the right place to post, but here's my experience: Runs great on my desktop with: i7 4770k 2x R9 280X in Crossfire 16GB RAM On my work laptop the game doesn't even load, instead only displaying a black screen which turns white on CTRL-ALT_DEL -> Task Manager with the message: "Ashes_DX11 has stopped responding" I'm guessing the issue is the graphics card, as I'm actually using
