I agree with all names mentioned here. But all too often, we may not perceive the great effort that is behind the development of any skin -I can fall into the trap of just judging by results or looks! So for me, my favourite artists/skinners is every single wincustomizer who's contributed anything throughout the whole history of this site. ;)

1. Right click your desktop and go to "Personalize". 2. Click on Window Color and Appearance. In this window you'll find "Open classic appearance properties for more color options" at the bottom, click on this link. 3. A new small window appears "Appearance Settings". On the bottom right hand side there's two buttons: Effects and Advanced, click "Effects". 4. In "Effects" make sure "shadow under menus" is selected. Also, make sure that you have "show shadows under menus" s

Hi dan Does your issue happen in every skin? Just to eliminate skin architecture -skin edges/margins may influence window positioning.. I'm no expert in these matters but perhaps you could examine your hardware and drivers! If you have (Intel) integrated graphics, this could limit what WB can do -and other software, especially games. Have you disabled "pixel borders", as a test, under WB Configuration? This could make a difference. Also check if there are more

Deja Vu? Permit me to share some thoughts (I seldom do), purely based as a user. If memory doesn't fail, these are the very same comments that came with the advent of XP. Today, people don't look back to that move from Win98! I have been an OD user for years and I must say that I have used very few skins. What makes me keep using a skin again and again is the sheer looks of it: quality, appearance, ease of use, etc... I tend to switch back to favour

I am not an expert in these things yet I would suggest you re-install iconpackager and under packages load "windows default icons". This software has other tools to rebuild your icon cache and repair icon images (see tools menu). Iconpackager shouldn't be a strain on your cpu or ram; its requirements are minimal. You could also contact stardock support.

Same problem here. It started with WB 4.39c[rc].002. The surprising thing is that even if you restore WB to an earlier build or last stable release the problem remains. The "All Programs" menu is skinned but the menu does not appear whether by pausing over or clicking. Even if you change skin, the fault is not rectified. Like StageMan, WB has to be unloaded for the start panel to work correctly. The Start Menu items in the Documents and Settings Folder for each user appears correct. If you a

Permit me to contribute a few thoughts: I feel that skinning in general will become more specialized -even professional! By having its own forum, everyone will have a more localized location in which to share. Perhaps I'm too optimistic, but I believe the future will have a range of issues which will need to be addressed in a more serious manner. I personally read all help threads, simply because I learn more. I like to learn about different problems that arise and the wealt

This is only a suggestion! There are situations -as in every relationship- where disagreements are inevitable, where words become destructive and not constructive and when tempers may flare out of sheer desperation. Would it then be possible to have like a grievance panel, where individuals could present their views or mishaps? This isn't a condemnation to anyone, honest!!! Yet, WC is growing and will continue to do so, therefore both artists and users can have recourse to a group of independ

I don't know if this will help. You are unable to delete fastload.dll because it is still being used by your PC -this particular dll file is included in the registry- so windows will not allow you to delete it. I have experienced this error only when I forget to unload windowblinds and install an update. You have to make sure that none of windowblinds components are loaded when you startup windows. I wouldn't advise you to meddle with the registry as the consequences could be disastrous. If

I think I am going to complicate matters further! Honestly, my intention isn't to be difficult. Can I bring in the question of "fate" or "destiny"? If we do good or evil, are we destined to do just that: good or evil? I think that we can choose either way. If we are able to choose, perhaps we may not be able to change the world, but couldn't we make a difference? I don't think that events occur at a random pace. Like the theory of evolution. If we are in state of evolving, shouldn't we ev

How do we acquire knowledge of what is good and evil in the first place? Is it something we just learn? When do we know that something is good? Sorry, no answers, just questions.

I find that a good and safe PC Cleaner works wonders; it's amazing the amount of junk that one collects be it internet or otherwise. Regular cleanups are vital. This also applies to the registry. I use jv16 power tools -especially for registry cleanup- and it does make a difference. This software has the facility of back-ups (freeware). Also the amount of services that you have running in windows background by default slows down any PC quite a bit. Many of these services can run man

Are you using Windows XP? If so, have you updated to the latest Service Pack? This error may have to do with certain applications like: Java, CD Copying Software or other imaging devices, e.g: scanner. Just check that your Internet Explorer Browser is updated? Also attempt to reinstall web-blinds. Make sure you restart -even if windows does not request it. I hope this helps. <img src="http://images.st
