" Ultimately, a lot of this will be either first degree hearsay or second degree hearsay, so let the lawyers fight it out, and a judge direct them and the jury to come up with a conclusion." again, sane advice to be given to frogboy. not to me. this is not a trial room. this is a forum. HE wants to chat. let's chat. anyway, i didn't hear you or the other guy jumping in to withhold judgment when everyone was hailing wardell as t

" So let's not fucking talk about it, because you're making a fool of yourself." this would be valid advice to frogboy - to not broach the subject until it comes up in a court of law. actually, i'm kinda surprised his lawyer has not advised him such. but again, if he wants to chat, let's chat why not? again - he is not addressing a court. this is a forum. he's talking about it in a forum. no rule of law governing
i'm not a judge. so the justice system has nothing to do with this. frogboy did not post this thread to a jury of his peers. he posted it to us. there is no "justice system" at play in his appeal here. he wanted to talk about it. so let's fucking talk about it.
" Trying to argue your way to an early informal judgement based on your own assumptions is fucking retarded." but since the fucking retarded games have begun, you have to play by the fucking retarded rules.... as for the sanity of the exercise - i disagree. so far, we're not talking purely on a he-said she-said level. we've been citing statements that are not contested in terms of their utterance. so since the source material is agreed u
" Do not force your will upon another person." ahhhhhh... the hallowed faith in "non-coercion" raises its head. but what if, on that day in court, the defendant changes his mind and doesn't want the punishment? whatever would/could a non-coercive court/judge do? worse problem - however in the world can a non-coercive system ever fill a jury box of 12 jury of peers to judge? it's mandatory and it's hard to fill NOW.
" We intend to have our day in court." fantastic. you'll have it. but that's not exactly a banner that carries any weight here and you waving it doesn't make you seem more or less innocent (though your waving it seems to indicate that you think it does). for now, you're talking to us and that flag is more or less irrelevant. " Let's move this back to the posted topic for a second:" <
also, question: you wrote, " I am an inappropriate, sexist, vulgar, and embarrassing person and I'm not inclined to change my behavior." at what point does that sentiment become a problem in your estimation? so you're "sexist" and that's just how you roll. what if you were "racist"? at what point does "hey, that's just who i am, take it or g
I'd honestly like the Tactical Battles to include SOME War-game concepts and SOME RPG concepts as-needed. I'd like to stay away from the battle concepts of HOMM or E:WoM Launch as much as possible. Hopefully the tactical battles of E:WoM launch and E:WoM "Upgraded" are COMPLETELY different genres of Tac Battles.
i'm totally in agreement on this and i brought it up during the
coooooool! this is looking a lot like what i was hoping it would be like - a table top miniatures game! have you stardock dudes played any of those kinds of games like De Bellis Antiquitatis or Field of Glory or the modern default of Games Workshop games like warhammer or 40k? actually field of glory from slitherine has a pc and mac version that's not perfect and the AI is pretty brain dead but it's pretty much as close as it gets in terms of a pc version. (actually
actually, that's a great question... how big is too big? it seems that history is filled to the brim with companies, heck - civilizations, that simply got too big too quick and just collapsed from it. and in fact, it seems like this entire economic downturn is the fallout of peeps building the house of cards heedlessly higher... despite the fact they're building with... playing cards. i know the common adage is "grow or die" but i wonder if it's possible
this is getting on my nerves. fences corrupts the graphics in starcraft and there's no way to disable apart from uninstalling? then uninstall it is. jin
thanks kitkun, i am happy to report that under that impulse question mark dealy is an option to get your registration code (for all your games) emailed to you. and Dawn of War: Dark Crusade does indeed have a registration key that you will be able to enter into soulstorm to unlock the DC armies whether you buy it from retail or from steam! awesome foresight on impulse's part and a big thumbs up from me! jin
What you are talking about is refered to as "first mover advantage" in economics, and it absolutely does not apply to this market (or at least, reaching that conclusion is impossible today). Unfortunately, standards are a good example of how a market can fail to produce the best outcome for the customers. Often, the best will prevail, but not always, where the biggest may do so with a worse standard (think MS). But does that apply to this discu
y'know when it's NOT good? when it's VHS vs. betamax. when it's HD-DVD vs. BLU-RAY. I wasn't around for VHS and Betamax, but the HD-DVD and BluRay competition drove down prices of both until HD died. BluRay hasn't come down nearly as much since then. Also, check the registrations under the blue question mark in the upper right page in Impulse. Should have the code DC there.
not around for vhs vs
i disagree that competition is ALWAYS good. it is GENERALLY good. y'know when it's NOT good? when it's VHS vs. betamax. when it's HD-DVD vs. BLU-RAY. you expressed confusion over the issue of standards but in certain very clear cases, the sentiment is clear. in some cases, choice is less about benefit to the consumer and more a pissing match between industry players and actually an IRRITATION to consumers. i'm not sure that this is or will be t
the PAUSE BUTTON! i'm not very good at rts's and especially with the additional overhead of civ-like gameplay, i hit that button OFTEN just to think! and i love that i can still issue commands and everything is still interactive during the pause. thanks for continuing the rts of tradition of allowing this and please make sure nothing every breaks it! fantastic game. brilliant game play concepts. rock on. jin p.s. is the 3rd mini expansio
i would like to confirm! it happened to me just now! ack! i was like 20 turns away from winning a tech victory and playing "keep away" as another civ was headed toward an ascension victory (albeit in 940 turns)... and then all of a sudden... DREAD LORDS! ooooooo... what's this? i thought as i clicked on done. then crash to desktop. i thought maybe that's how bad-ass they were.&n
howdy! just got the endless universe last week and it's been one heckuva week! LOOOOOOOVE the game. i end up thinking about aspects of the system while i'm going to sleep! the few things i want changed: 1. all ships continue on autopiloted path without ENDING THE TURN. right now, if it takes several turns to get to your eventual destination, you must END YOUR TURN before the ship moves for that turn (that is, the ship only progresses on its autopilot
that makes sense and it's good that it gives you that opportunity to change your mind if something came up. but the other side of that coin is that if you would have made it to an artifact that could have affected how you would play that turn, you'd miss out because you had to hit the turn button to get the ship to go. actually, a button that tells your ships to continue their journey on the laid out path, without ending the turn (a force move button basically) would be a good c
howdy, so i just won a small galaxy game of TA last night in probably the most irritating way possible... i had a LOT of money and i just kept buying constructors on every planet and re-occupying ascension points as the ai lazily blew they away (sometimes leaving them alone for 3 turns at a time)... eventually, they simply couldn't blow them away without a new constructor taking its place during the same turn. hah! but i got into that mess cuz i was thinking (like with
i can confirm that autopilot doesn't work... but only "as one would expect" : ) .... the ships in autopilot don't move at the BEGINNING of the turn... they move at the END of the turn after you hit the TURN BUTTON! ACK! this seems very very unintuitive for us civ players where we're used to following our units movements at the beginning of the turn and then being left to decide what to do next. in order for units to move except at the end of the turn,
WOW!!! fantastic! i have long wished to have a credible and capable developer tackle the issue of american politics in game form! ever since SCRAM, civilization, the ghostbusters game on the commodore 64, and constantly reinforced by rts and tycoon games as well as the seminal THE SIMS, i've found that one of the things that games can do probably better than any other medium is to elucidate to a player HOW A SYSTEM WORKS - to really
