me too...start new game and can not use Custom Races from Civ IV before Supernova (grayed Button) load older Custum game with Race (with older GalCiv III Ships) ...go to Stardock>new Design...back to desktop
Im try to use the Grouping Tool, today im have only fails to use it and thats without editing the scaling of Parts.
The aesthetic Shipdesigner was for me the Mainfactor to play GalCiv :D . Ugly diagramm calculations and Boardview Battle Isle/ BirdView Battlescenes or ugly like Hell Clone Units 1 im find many in the 4x gamescene. Stellaris for me a No Go ,and so im love the Old Imperium Galactica and Endless Space or SoSE
the aethetical Part is one of the Mainfactors thats split GalCiv from other 4x Games , otherside ,her has nothing aspect for the mechanic ,what is sad , and lost potenzial...the designing of Ships optical is big and technical is has nothing influence ,...why im not can bring in different techs in a Tiny Ship as a Single Weapon? give each Tiny Ship 3 parts for minimum ,a Interceptor with a Interstellar Drive or a Deflector Shild ,a other only a Homedefense Fighter or Bomber with more Hull and
im seeing the Ship Designer has the same problems like the in GalCiv III with grouping Parts and save it as new Complete part.
im play further GalCiv III 4x and a Rondomized techtree ...no Thanks ,so no Strategic and tactical Plans for the Player Im can not design Starbases :( and the battleviewer is now only a Hexview ...for what im have the Shipbuilder? I don't need to see every little battle(skip Funtion)but when my main fleets come up against other large formations, I want to see my self-designed ships, especially the flagships in all their glory and firepower, small fighter squadrons doing their
