Sorry I didnt mention the difficulty level. I am playing on Intelligent level on huge map and I have constructors winning a war for me. Most of my star systems produce 1 constructor per turn or two and the amount of star bases just gets bigger ans bigger. My frigates 2 frigates are dstroying AI's army of battleships without being damaged too much thanks to the huge amount of star bases I have in some sectors. As far as resources are concerned then that should be an expention too (what I

"The only potential problem I see as what would you do about TerrorStars that are moved into a sector already at it's maximum?" I think if you make it an exeption then it might work.. :notsure: . PS: But not more than 1 TS and 1 normal SB per sector.

This was probably suggested before somewhere in 335 replies in the suggetions thread but I dont have the time to go through them all so here it is: Limit the amount of starbases to one per sector. I mean having 2-3 in one sector with big offensive+defensive modules make it virtually impossible for AI to even get close to my planets. Also researching new tech to get new better modules looses its point since you can simply build another SB and upgrade it. And do that over and over again.<

21 or 22, but one random event pushed it up to 35 or smth and with soil enhancement and habitation improvement my highes planet was 48 (very nice - high population growth and morale always 100% :) )

I never build my military up until someone declares war on me. But my games never lasted long enough to have full scale dreadnaughts war (I ususally win with figates), so I cant really advise on how to combat dreadnaughts since you will need to employ a totally different startegy to my 'sabotage trade routes and destroying AI finances' one ;)

There will be more events to come, but not all of them will occure in the same game. Non-Aligned Worlds (aka the I-League) is basically another minor race. But be careful, if you let the moral on one of your planets slip then you citizens might rebel and join the I-Legue. Economic prosperity is...well..economic prosperity. It will end eventually so dont get your hopes up ;)

What a harsh response Dearmad... I come from Russia and piracy there is a number one thing. So what? Shall we accuse every russian of being a criminal? There is more to the existance of black market than a simple demand for cheaper products... And I think its very nice that Gezz (given the financial difficulty he is in) is actaully thinking of buying a game from the developers... PS: In his post he didnt defend the black market but simply said why its widely used.

Its typical of people to blame AI and say that its cheating, especially if you are loosing game after game and thats why threads are getting more hostile. Its like when you play Counter Strike and there are one or two guys that kick some serious butt. Everyone accuses them of cheating and they get banned. Typical human pshycology... ;) (did i spell pshycology correct? :notsure: )

I am relatively deep into the game now (just researched dreadnaughts technology), I already had 5 or 6 elections go by, yet UP met only once... :( :( :( Why only once? Can it be because Arceans have 37% of the total vote (bigger than any individual race)?

"If the AI doesnt cheat, ill eat my shorts. Ever see the AI explore? Happens very rarely, and yet, it knows exactly where EVERYTHING is, even where all my colonized planets are, even though for sure i know none of their ships had ever came anywhere close to my territory (or anyone elses for that matter). " This is because of the back story. In effect the AI is cheating since it knows the map, while we (human players) have to explore everything and hope that some res are still free. Neve

"Question: do all four squares around a resource benefit from said resource if you build a starbase in each one?" You mean do all eight squares around a resource benefit from that resource? I dont think so...but you can always check by clicking on SB that was built directly next to yours and see if they get the benefits of that resource.. :)

Its nice to hear that AI does build SB on non-res points. However its sad that I never witnessed it. Maybe my games dont last long enough??? It would be nice if AI was REALLY aggressive with building SB (not necessarily 2-3 per sector but at least one decent SB per sector where his planets are). Also AI should be able to build SB in your sector, which is smth I have never ever seen happen.

BTW I like the way AI responds when you build a star base in his territory: AI:'Eh, you star base in sector x,y doesnt seem to be mining resources, but instead its gaining great offensive capability' Response: 'Dont worry about it' (or something alone those lines. When this message came up I was actually planning to start my massive and long planned invasion exactly the next turn using those star bases so responding with 'dont worry about it' was very very funny)

"My question is at what morale percentage is it possible for the I-League to snatch your system?" I would like to know that too. I am spending tonns of money on destabilising Drengin and on one of their planets the moral is 1. It has been like that for a very long time yet it hasnt rebelled to join the I-League. +Drengin are very evil+intelligent (dont know if that matters)

I like to play with tight cluster on large or huge galaixies. That way you hardly ever have a colony ship diarrhoea since everyone is busy colonising their own cluster and AI colony ships cannot reach you anyway because of limited range (i know some people were saying AI is cheating when it comes to colony ship range, but IMO it doesnt) -TLA-Russian
