Wow... I haven't played in ages and oh boy this game made progress I noticed a few issue with reinforcing your armies. But also armies in general. T2 armies are extremely tedious to manage because the leader just keeps on dying which means the army keeps disbanding... I don't know if this is intentional to keep the players busy in the heat of combat or not but if it isn't well... it's very annoying and I h
In a Different post I spoke about when you zoom really out you units color glow, so you know where they are but, it does not say anything about what kind of units you have, I did that because I do not want any icons on the screen. so how do you find out what units do you have? Easy you just click of them and you see that: Reduced 68% <div clas
as the title says, some feedback wishes /suggestions whatever ^_^ much love and sry for the sarcasm =D
so i haz make art pliz appreciate sankyu btw is it ok if i post this here? else pls move to founders forum? =D *EDIT - Pic removed. Move to the Founders forum to make these types of posts. - Admin
I have been asking myself many times now how meta units fight each other. my experience: - T1 units usually die before T2 units and they usually die before T3 units. meaning lots of lower tier units are a very effective way to protect your t2 and t3 units - projectiles are cosmetic, which is fine in general but confusing so here are the questions: I was not able to determine whether units focusfire or the damage distribution is some
well the energy system on the t3 units seems like a good mechanic for also powering shields. a bubble shield could be introduced as an active ability that consumes the t3 units energy. btw this whole shield discussion is a bit silly. The problem is not that shields force low health/high dps units. Shields actually enable such units to be usefull in large blob fights. But that doesnt make the standart tank any less valuable actually if you watch some SUPCOM 2 micro tutorials it
how about placing building blue prints on the ground and the closest idle engineer will commence building it? if there is no idle engi the blueprint is added to a queue and a voice note appears. not just that it is very lazy - huehuehue - but if i were from the future I'd handle my production exactly that way: plan the structure layout then let the ai handle the details. tho this would probably need a whole new set of code to realize :/ &n
im eager to experience those new crashes ^__^ the current ones always seem to happen when two large armies go at it against each other. i think it also happened a few times when i tried to move this HUGE as meta unit through a narrow pass :/
really loving the update so far. Gameplay seems faster and more fluid which is great. but sadly i get game freezes and crashes very very regularly. I havent yet played a single 4 player game till the end cause of that D: are there any useful log files created to send around? im runnig the dx12 version with radeon r9 280x i7 4770k 8g ram benchmark gives me a good 45- 60 fps on high settings. so i guess my machine can handle the
Update to the OP: For those who've joined the Steam Group for Ashes Founders, I've created a new forum that's private to owners of the game. You can also find me in the group chatroom during the day when I'm at the office (reminder - we're closed next week).
how do i join the steam group? o_O
game just froze down at this stage: I assume it hapened when i gave that huge meta unit ( approx 80 units) a movement command. A Possible reason may be those misplaced units at the top of the screen. this basically happens very often when i move large meta units of that scale. another bug: if I create a meta unit with 1 T3 and
well we're still in alpha of course it's awful =D new things always take time till perfection is reached. so currently theres the problem the the current UI layout is just not cut out to support the size of the meta units. from testing it appears that the maximum size of one meta unit is 1xT3 + 16xT2 + 80xT1. that is a respectable size =D it really is. and of course it causes problems with the current UI.My idea to adress that issue is with numbers:
One thing I can definitely say is the the founder feedback has been very helpful. A lot of these things are on the table. I wish you had our current build. It can't be sent soon enough to you guys. We aren't married to a particular game mechanic. What we are married to are certain broader concepts such as: Infinite turtling / rewarding the player who doesn't expand. Originally, the goal of
ok well im done with playing against bots , but since i almost never see any multiplayer lobbies how about we exchange skype contacts. I'll also post my steam name. I want to test some stuff performance of units 1 on 1 and in groups etc, i think it is easier to evaluate balance when not playing to win but rather playing to experiment. if you're up for that fun add me :) Skype: Netwolfy Steam:andmann
keep the fortresses, remove the VP points and locations. there's no justification or need for them. there are already five resource types without it (mass, reactives, energy, logistics, research) this is getting ridiculous. Especially since we're talking here about a resource TO WIN THE GAME. goodby gameplay. research is useless as well, as I stated in another thread it wo
Well, I don't know if it botheres anyone else besides me but i don't like the concept of the logistics arrays. not just that they seem rather expensive but they also add another layer of micromanagement. Which would be OKish maybe somehow i don't know...right now the scale of battle isnt that big, so it is manageable, but yeah... mostly annoying. But i'm curious as to how you imagine we manage THOUSANDS of units while also having to deal with this kind of unne
Could anyone confirm if Mantle should or should not be working on my AMD 280x? As I mentioned in my initial post I vaguely remember reading a post on these forums that that it would only work for certain cards to begin with but I can't seem to find where I saw that now.
well... im running on windows 10. with an i7 4770k and the r9 280x I had my trouble running
ty for the replies. you are absolutely right =D how could i not mention warlords battle cry, although I only know warlords battle cry III or was it II? And it was one of the first strategy games I played next to Battle Realms. So I wasn't aware of how turtling could otherwise be employed. I mostly loved it for its progression system ^_^ Shields definitely add a lot of strategical value to a game. placing them right or keeping them in Formati
After a lot of FAQ reading and digging through QA I am wondering whether i will regret buying the founders pack.. though i probably should have done so after reading through the forums in the first place lol, but I'll just hope and assume i wont regret the purchase... !WARNING! massive wall of text approaching here are some features I'm very happy and excited about and concerns that might fuck u
