Jumping in as a new user, and without reading the whole discussion, sorry.... I'd like to add my view and hopefully (optimistically) include points that haven't had much discussion. There was a time, the 1960s for example, when Christians thought that the science was 'settled' regarding the Old Earth hypothesis.
