I should note that I don't blame the developers. GC3 is a wonderful game. This particular part of it is broken, for all the reasons MA3308 gave. I'm also pointing out that if you want a challenge, don't do diplomacy. I'm finishing up a Godlike game where I haven't traded anything and it's quite a challenge. I kept waiting and wai

Until a later patch, any trading with the A.I. (tech, resources, even credits to get it to declare war) is on par with hacking the program, or cheating. It's simply broken beyond all measure at the moment. Even at "godlike" difficulty, the games are ridiculously easy to win.

[quote who="MottiKhan" reply="3" id="3579483"] I'd like to refute that, but I can't. The AI for GalCiv2 was written by Brad, who is a genius programmer. Being a programmer myself, I'm not saying that lightly. Of course, he had help and all of us contributed in part by posting our strategies so he could improve his AI. The AI in GC3 is worse than it was in GC2! Playing on a large map, default settings, tech trading disabled, 6 random opponents on "Incredible" setting, and it wasn't even close. The AI is slow colonizing planets, will always give you money for resources (even when it has more than it needs), and if you have at least 3,000 credits, you can get a war starte

I always enjoyed playing one-city challenge on Civ, so here's a Galactic Civ version: Two planet Challenge: - Medium map, five opponents, default settings (planets common, habitable planets occasional), Tough AI, No tech trading/brokering. - No building of colony ships (no upgrading other ships into colony ships). - No precursor ruin bonus tiles on either two starting planets. All other bonuses are OK
