Per the Left Behind series, in the last days there will be a world government, and it will be a generally stupid, pathetic, bad idea. So, it very well might happen, and it will probably be very bad for believers. Borders are definitely keeping the world sane. If we got rid of the borders, who's to say that this new government will operate under the US Constitution, where people have rights? Nobody. We would actually lose rights in the compromise to

Actually, most humans find that it's easier to fuel down here on Earth. I'm still trying to figure out how it could preserve human life if the Earth is destroyed. If the Earth is destroyed, the Moon is not long for this world. Without the Earth's gravitation pull making it run circles around us, where will it go? Probably into the Sun or worse, shoot off into space. Well, not really worse. But still, it would not just stick around right he

The funniest reaction my son has had to food was to lemons. He makes a face and shakes his head, and then asks for more... I wish I had a video of it, but I don't have a video camera...

I'm really glad I don't have a decision to face like that. I did, but I made it. I stayed where I was, away from family. But, I had been out of where I used to be for 4 years, so I'm not sure going back would have been that great either. Also, it's really expensive to live there, and I did not have a job to fall into. So, good luck making the decision - whatever you decide, it's going to be the right decision.

If I had a machine to breath that needed electricity, I'm pretty sure that'd be the first bill I paid. Well, second, after the bill for the machine. But anyway, the situation is pretty bad. Good collection strategy, too, I bet she'll pay now that she's gone. Anyway, maybe it'll get others to pay, like, "Pay us or die, just look at this article." The negative PR effects, though, would probably kill any chance of anyone sticking with them.</

At one point, Ronzio's pizza had a deal where you could pickup a medium one-topping pizza for $5. That's an okay deal, most places have the 3 pizzas for $5 each anyway. But, you could get a large for $6, and an extra-large for $7. Two weeks later, they added 99 cents to each of those prices. Still a great deal, and great pizza. Grilled chicken is my favorite from them, but they have better pizzas with more than one topping. Unaffordable to me, th

Yes it is, quite salty, those wounds. But the court system/lawsuits are not meant to make people rich, but to put them back where they would have been had they not been wronged. Sometimes the wrong is so egregious that the offender should be punished additionally, but that does not happen as often as one would think. Apart from those cases, one will only get enough to put you back where you should be, and not on easy street. I would add in a defamation charge to the false imprisonment, again

No problem - remember, being able to prove things in court is extremely important, because there's someone on the other side trying to say you're not even injured, and you could have been working, and that you are not owed a dime. And, they're very, very good. Especially if they hired my firm.

Note: The following should not be construed as legal and/or accounting advice. If you are in an accident and need to calculate a loss, please contact an attorney and/or an accountant for legal/accounting advice. Remember - I do this everyday, but I still have a lot of people checking my stuff before it goes out. So, another thing the firm I work for does i

Right, if we hadn't already raised them, there wouldn't be so many. But there already are so many. So we should eat lots of meat, and THEN become vegans, if this plan is going to work. Consumption is at an all time high. Not just of meat.

I ate some chocolate so the bad taste in my mouth would go away. I don't want the kids who didn't graduate to walk. If they're not good enough to graduate, they're the kid who marches and then breaks from it to go sit with their friend on the other side of the place, asking the person next to them to move... messing up the entire flow of graduation... then gaggles about how unfair it is that they don't get their diploma until it's been earned

As an accountant, I know that that number thrown as 'room and board' is not really such. It's a number to show what he would have been paying in his everyday life had he not been in prison. However, if he can prove that he still had to pay that much, ie, his wife was still out there paying the room portion, then that number has to go down. It's just like any other injury case - if you can't do your job, you don't get what you would have made doing t

It just makes one sad. If everyone stops eating farm animals, we're going to have a lot of farm animals around. I'm sure animal rights activists aren't going to allow them to just be killed, so where are all these farm animals going to go? Global warming will be worse if we don't eat these creatures, I say. So grab a burger, steak, and a glass of milk.

Sex is a risky thing. You can change the risk. If you have only one partner, your chances of getting an STD are a lot less than having lots of partners. So that's one choice. If you use protection, the chances of getting an STD/pregnant are a lot less than had you not. But that chance is still there. I think we tend to forget that a 1% chance is significant when it can change your life as drastically as a baby, or a disease can. I think kids are

When you have a habit built up, it's hard to break. Using a credit card is definitely a habit for some people, one that is not easily broken. The 'just for emergencies' is not going to allow the clean break needed to get someone off their credit card habit. People with financial savvy probably aren't going to have tons of debt, and if they do, they're not worried about paying it off.

The difference in cost has to do with the difference in regulations, not just insurance. You can't get cheap care here because it's impossible to run a cheap medical operation. It would be shut down in five minutes.

Thank you for the practical car tip. You're right about a car payment being necessary sometimes. You were making the car payment into repairs. But never buy a new car... the amount of value it loses right away makes it an inacceptable proposition for me. Maybe someday I'll have a car payment, maybe not, but I hope I can pay cash for decent cars.

It's not in savings to make money... it's there to keep from falling into the debt trap. If you start using your credit card again, you might not stop with emergencies. I know strong people probably can't understand this, but some people are not like you and need something as a buffer between them and temptation.
