someone needs to confirm this but i think they get 0 maintenance on their ships Otherwise they would end up completely defenseless
if anyone has M odded ship roles and basically removed them, or more specifically, changed them all to capital, or Support
You can mod the all ship roles to anyone of the defined roles, "nothing" (on role) is not doable. So you could default everything to say capital. The battle system has priorities for all roles, these can be modded
Restrict role assign

I feel a 'Portrait-able' Character representing your Fleet Admiral would really go a long way to personifying your empire.
i'd be ok either way but prefer the Fleet Admiral level up as a new & different twist. I believe Paul

Its a graphics memory issue (at least it was for me) Easy fix: File: MapSizeDefs.xml Change: 100.0 to 2900.0 I had lots of crashes before i made this change. You need to do it each map size. 2900 will limit you to icons only
Did you 'opt in' for 1.7?
yup, it is 1.7 just did a new med hull, put 4 warp drives on, mass cost for # 4 was the same as # 1... What the heck? EDIT Ok i THINK i see the change a given component (e.g. warp drive) uses up more mass as the hull size increases but remains constant for a give hull. honestly it does not look like a very big increase though
^^The Opt in will fundamentally change your game. All ship parts (engines, weapons, defense and life support) are now a set value with percentage increase. Which means you can no longer endlessly stack engines and get ridiculous speeds on your ships. I was used to having a MINIMUM of 3 warp drives on Medium or larger ships on an Insane map. No more. Now the game takes longer to play and is actually even more fun since everyone is 'racing
L; Well if you and gauntlet like it it must be good. I just did not like all the threads complaining the peace keepers coming in and wiping them out because an AI declared war while they were going the peaceful route .
By the way, I'm not sure I'm gonna buy any more DLC until Stardock fixes planetary invasions. I can't believe they're not gonna try to do something with this essential game element - it's not even on their roadmap!!
Oh but it is on the road map, been discussed many times, it might have been mentioned in the lase stream but i don/t recall the time frame
With the way 1.7 works, auto building S base constructors, you can easily end with 50+ queued basic constructors. If (when) you need to build a ship, moving it to the top ov the queue is a real pain. A move to top button would fix this
Not a biggy but the S forge buff, while working, do not show up in ant tool tip. makes folks think it is not working. Also whats the deal with no adjacency bonus buff (WAD?)
i liked it also, but not holding my breath, there is a lot of stuff on his plate and i'll be surprised (pleasantly) is we see it before 1.8
