I have the same wide screen setup as dersleeper, and I have to agree. Stretched videos don't look very good at all. The First Anomaly, First Starbase, First Colonization videos are ones I can think of off the top of my head.

Here's another place to look. Looks like 4 or so low-budget remakes are in the works. (and Stardock is mentioned by the site too) http://www.masterofmagic2.com/
Same experience as Tiny Rhino, bought MOO3 and despised it, then decided to try GalCiv from the flyer that was in the MOO3 box. And I was hooked! If Stardock has full creative control over MOM2, I would definately pre-order. If not, then I would wait til a feature list of the game came along before deciding. [Message Edited]
I'd buy it direct, too! MC
Guiness, Killians Red, or Bell Tower Ale (microbrew from Pittsburgh - mighty tasty! :) )
Very cool idea about the Wormhole Science tech, PhantomAceX1, I second that! (Especially wormholes leading to other galaxies! - Imagine the scope of the game! Aw, yeah!) I'd like to see different types of Starbases, like Orbital, System, and Deep Space classifications. Each could have their own specializations. Orbital could be devoted to planetary improvements, while System could be to trade and influence improvements, Deep Space could be centered on espionage, resource gathering, and
Arcana, KMFDM, Ministry, Laibach, Leather Strip, and other industrial or ethereal music.... on WinAmp3
How about adding a clock with an alarm feature? I've noticed that the hours tend to slip by when playing this game. :)
Good question Foodcraver, I'm just gonna have to try that and see what happens. MC
I've found that in a smallish galaxy the anomalies are quite abundant, yet in the huge/gigantic galaxies the anomalies are pretty rare. Makes me wonder if the game spawns equal amounts anomalies for each galaxy size, just with the larger ones they're distributed more? MC
In one game, I found a cluster of anomalies above a group of planets I wanted to colonize, which pumped up my survey ship +8 hps, +3 attack, +4 defense (or something like that). The Drengin were sending Colony ships to that group of planets and I used my pumped-up Survey Ship to destroy their ships, and took the planets as my own. :) MC
Planet Details screen has a text bug from too long of a description with no ability to scroll and see the rest of the text. I screencapped it and made a link: (easier to understand this way :)) http://www.fdhjr.net/GC_textBug.gif MC
