One thing I have seen is that my allies declare war on one of my targets.. and after I have nuked every ship they own, my allies will "help" by occupying a planet that I was going to occupy (as soon as my Combat Transports were buildt). Let me just say: those bastards! Naturally this causes me to declare war on them as well, despite me having a 300 army rating vs theirs 120ish the pull such foolish pranks. I would have liked for the AI to somehow 'see' what I am

Requested content for a upcoming patch: * "Blockade" function on starships to be used when you park your ships close to a trade route. They will automagically attack any enemy freighter passing through the area, then return to the spot the user parked them. * A command line interface where the user can input commands in the syntax [sourge] [command] [target] Example: /Jimbob18 attack Ranger2 ; /Freighter256 trade PlanetDruidia. Jimbob18 would be my Battleship an

#41 Windows is more about creating and being able to market a Operating System as accessible to novice users than it is about making a fast, slim & efficient operating system. If that was the objective (fast & efficient) there are way too many bells & whistles that can not be turned off. I fear that, with Vista, you will be unable to tweak as much as in Windows XP, just as WinXP allowed you to do less than Windows 2000 -- SFC an

#16; You would want a 'stupid' person to have access to a beta because only a 'stupid' person can make 'stupid' mistakes that the application does not handle properly which makes it crash. Assuming the 'stupid' person is able to document the steps taken, or even better, if the application itself tracked the users actions (Debugging, performance decreasing) and auto-launched a bug report when said crash/bug occured, you'd have a pretty good t

#13, Was thinking the same. Would be fun if enabling cheats for the player also enabled them for the AI (Although that kinda ruins the point of enabling them in the first place... Debug mode would be more accurate. )

I would not recomend having volunteers do Forum Administration, unless you give them a very strict set of guidelines that are available both to forum users and the administrators themselves (obviously).

I think i'm just agreeing with you... I'd have to go back in time to check what I was thinking when I wrote it, of course. I wrote your name since you brought up the subject.. although I could have written something like "Thats Right ... and here is what I think...

@Jeysie: So all they know by those numbers is that, if you have one game 'released' into the wild, the sequel (if the original was good) will sell better due to all the free advertisement they got from the first version. I dont think Copy Restriction had anything to do with the increased sales of version 2. Since it was also cracked and released, and if people managed to get the crack for version 1, I'm sure that -- 2 years after (guesstimat

Well, with VISTA and TCPA its gonna be even harder to be a Customer rather than a Consumer. You're even gonna loose control of what you can do on your computer. (As in not being able to install any driver you want)

Oh, might have misread something then, or miscommunicated it. I'll blame it on spending 5 hours in Blackwing Lair today, additional 30 minutes on Onyxia, and topping it off with not having slept since... I cant remember, Friday. :-] WOW is hard work.

@Jeysie: I think they would earn more by removing CP on games, as its only a nuisance to those who purchase the "licensed" product. And it does'nt actually "PROTECT" against anything. But they are honest and they say that the objective is to Ensure high sales on launch date, before the "pirates" (Not like those who recently attacked US Navy Ships outside Somalia) If the objective is to delay launch date piracy, once the game has been out fo

@Campaigner: The difference is that, when you install a AntiVirus application, you expect it to be installed with the necessary rights to remove viruses. When you install a Firewall, you expect it to be installed with enough access to both avoid being fubared by other apps, as well as protecting your network reasonably well. Both of these application types are installed with the full knowledge of the user, and believe me, I'd get

I am starting to think that emailing publishers regarding the issue is pointless... I'll just not spend any money on the games that are restricted and play others instead (Like GalCiv1 & 2).. And if I ever get tired of GalCiv2, there will either be an expansion pack, or I can play the truckload of RPGs I have on my Playstation 2.. So many games I'd like to have played... Oh whell. When is the next Wheel of time Book out? <img s

I've previously emailed publishers/developers in an attempt to purchase their games without DRM Lockdowns (Starforce, Cd-check etc).. and offered to pay upwards to the sum of 100$ for such a product.... but the emails remain unanswered to this day.

@iTZKooPA Yea; Your comment made me think about my gaming purchases for the last 2 years, and they are almost entirely Console Titles. The great side effect of owning a modified XBOX is that I can load the games I purchase onto the hard-drive and not have to worry about the discs anymore, so I can store them in the sleeve until they rot (like my Wing Commander III Cd's <img src="../images/smiles/mad.gif" border=0 ALIGN="absmiddle

Reply to Xenocide III: Well, you can argue that Starforce started this issue when they released their product, but it did'nt affect customers (or consumers in their view) until Publishers started applying the Starforce Restriction to their games, thereby ruining the enjoyment of the game for many people. That Starforce have gone from one public relations fiasco to another I wont argue, and it reflects poorly on them as a company when th

Sounds like a nice place to work. Whats your average turnaround on employees? I hear the norm in the IT industry where I work is 18 months. Where I work now i'm just doing it for the money, as well as being able to terminate my contract real quickly so I can start going to school (hopefully) and learn something.

While driving to work today I was thinking about Starforce and how it is being applied by Publishers and Developers to software titles many gamers are interested in purchasing, and how gamers attempt to combat it. But is it Starforce we should blame, or is it the industry as a whole, spesifically targeting the Software Publishers & Developers who decide
