If you use TuneUp or Iolo Utils or similar type S/W some of them have options to enable show OS version on Desktop. Otherwise there is a registry hack to enable/disable it here .

Try putting image file on desktop when making the logonvista and give shorter names to files without a space followed by 8 digit numbers, your paths already look very long - some programs do not like long paths and then long file names with spaces, hyphens etc and long numbers.
