I don't really feel like it's useful to offer my critique of the trailer as a cut video / etc, and i'm not sure the customization of the logo is a priority for me, but I did also have the "crew" bar pop out at me as being weird from an information standpoint. Do I have one crew and their health is at 100%? Is all my crew's health at 100%? Is my life support functioning "green"? Do I have a "full" crew? If it's going to be crew, I als

Let's all put in our effort to make sure this does well, the word gets out, the game is good, it sells well, and then the original creators decide to come play with us and bring their spathi with them! :D This could go very well, folks!
why for gods sake, why. Why have gameplay and design limited by those piece of shit inept controllers? Ditch that nonsense and let yourself loose by taking full advantage of mouse and keyboard, without a second thought on wheter this will be doable on a pad later on, or will that work optimal on a pad. Make an authentic pc game, the kind that youll play and say

As for price point, I think just based on the kind of game this is I'd expect to see it as 39.99 on PC MAX, possibly cheaper on console. Even if it's huge, totally fully featured, it just seems like not the kind of AAA game that could command 60. I'd hope the angle is to go for maximum amount of sales/players (especially considering most people will be buying digital, so less "printing" costs?) vs. a lot on the first buy. I think a lot of people are feeling burned by No Ma

I'm glad star control 3 isn't completely ignored. I remember being one of those that actually enjoyed it (playing it while young probably helped!) I'm super excited to keep giving feedback now that things seem to really be heating up. It's cool that you think we're useful enough to involve in the story/lore some... I do wonder if there's some way I can avoid spoiling too much for myself though! Maybe any threads with intense story spoilers can

#1 Fleet building: Make a deck vs. Dynamic response Dynamic is the classic way, yes? But Deck seems much more challenging. I kind of like the idea of having think about what area of space I'm in, who I'm likely to encounter, etc. But also seems to require more micromanagement. For multiplayer, I think it may be best to be able to pick from these options when setting up a match or tourney. For single player it seems deeply tied to the difficulty of battle. I would

I'd like to play a female captain. I understand we might not even see ourselves, so maybe different customization may not matter that much, but it would be cool to pick what pronouns to be referred to and maybe a backstory if it figures into the plot at all. I don't remember if we discussed this before, but I like the option of doing a little bit of customizing if possible. Makes me feel more engaged in the game right from the start.

Still not a fan of the orange. At least it does stick out in the sea of space-game-blue.. also kind of weirded out by the purple below. I feel bad for just dropping negative feedback on color choices though, it is super hard. So I should say, if that is what it takes to make a screenshot/video of star control origins obviously star control origins, maybe then it's ok. It certainly looks unique in the trailer (and the gameplay trailer does get me pumped, I have

I think it's fine to make as much noise as you feel like making. And they're professionals who will be able to separate the useful feedback from the therapeutic grumbling. I'm sure they can tell the difference from "people who are always mad or enjoy complaining" and "grain of wisdom in something someone said that we somehow didn't consider" and this grumbling will exist with any game so I think their program probably lets them get out ahead of it a bit,

Having worked in design and ux for ten years, the trend has always been towards - does it show more useful information that you need right now? no? hide it. I can't imagine the future having /more/ cluttered interface. So unless the text read outs are showing me information that gives me a tactical upside (can the computer read micro expressions in this alien race that I'm unable to see with my pitiful human eyes? am I calling up the diplomatic history on an auxiliary

Unless this is done very well (and I'm a little skeptical of it - though the hologram conferences in mass effect felt kind of accurate to how it would go down), I feel like I gotta offer a dissenting opinion. It doesn't take a lot of work on my part to understand that I'm looking at the "screen" of the communication. And I think the doohickies and text to the side would mostly be awkward/distraction and and an awful lot to design for to keep it from looking too busy. I wou
Don't ignore SuperMelee, even if you only care about it 10%. Some of the propositions like solar-system-wide arenas, off-screen ships, and RADAR go hand-in-hand with longer space battles. If you care more about exploration, the last thing you want is having to spend 5-10 minutes fighting. (Or having to save-reload to skip battles.)
Yeah, definitely not ignoring it. will continue to give

I guess that's a good point - in an ideal world there would be variety with the combat and long solar system style battles (or even ones where you had to hop into hyperspace or travel across several systems chasing down a ship) would make for more interesting gameplay.

Nevermind, decided to just put it here, don't wanna accidentally mess up. Feedback! People already covered a lot of the detail stuff. I’ll drop some random thoughts that I feel are most important to me - I’m glad someone noted the UI colors in the doc - Orange as a primary UI color seems like a major no-no to me. I think I get wanting to get away from “Every Other
