i like trade, trade routes, diplomatic bonuses and sensors. things like economy, tech, production, influence and morale bonuses are easy to come by in the game so i don't bother spending points on those. trade, sensors and diplomacy can only be increased through certain technologies and the occasional wonder/trade good. planet quality and speed are nice ( and really difficult to improve ) as well, but quality is very expensive and speed broken. or is it fixed now? cheers <b

no, you just increase propaganda until morale is at 100%. this doesn't necessarily mean propaganda is at 100%. in fact, you can have 100% propaganda and less than 100% morale. propaganda spending is also capped at a 10bc, i think. in the later stages of the game i keep every planet's propaganda at 100%. i have no idea if this is worthwhile...but it sure makes elections a breeze. cheers h

try getting defense theory. i swear you could offer avatar technology and they still wouldn't do it ( although i've never tried this, but you get the idea ). anyway, i prefer it to the old settings. now you really have to think about your trades. cheers h

4 years of latin here...can't remember anything though. i always make a beeline for that one (gravity accelerators - you need controlled gravity tech) and buy it via Mitrosoft. incalculably useful when fighting wars or racing for resources...especially if you keep it to yourself. cheers h

idunno, a scout costs 20, so even building a ton of them is fairly insignificant. i don't know the AI well enough to know if it would declare war as a result - it seems to base that decision on relative power or whether you're attempting a cultural assault. anyway, it's not like anyone is going to be testing out the approach. so it's kinda moot. i was just doing a "reductio ad absurdam" on your idea, no offense was intended. but i guess the tone was kinda snarky - apologies. le

of course they're slow...they destroy stars. i had a bug in a game where i could move one 6 squares. i saved my game and proceeded to run rampant through the galaxy blowing up stars. they're more useful as mobile party palaces anyway IMHO. cheers h

try to get the "gravity accelerator" trade good early on in the game. the +2 movement advantage will give you a huge edge in combat. as for sensors, stack a sensor drone into your fleets and you'll be able to see them coming. cheers h

minor bug: i can move a terror star 6 squares/turn ( as opposed to the normal 1). the moves left starts at 6/1. pretty sure it had to do with making it part of a fleet, which coincidentally contained ships that can move 6 squares. cheers h

being able to trade everything via diplomacy is one of things that makes this game great. but it also seems to be one of the areas most susceptible to cheese. especially things like ship and planet trading. but it's also fairly obvious that when you're exploiting a loophole...and you're only hurting your own enjoyment of the game. as fot this 5 round thing, it seems like a minor issue in any case. just don't use 5 per turn until SD decides to fix it. thanks for posting it though, as i'

stargalax: 'How do you limit population growth in real life?' affluence and secularism seems to be doing the trick for most 1st world nations. japan and italy are shrinking and others would be if it weren't for immigration. apologies for the OT post. cheers h
