I just received my preorder copy from www.ebgames.com today and it was the regular edition. I did get a Gal Civ II thingy wrapped in shrinkwrap/hard cardboard (separately) with the game (I think it's the tech tree poster). The problem is that Brad said initially that EB and Gamestop preorders would get the Collector's Edition. I felt deceived. And what made it worse was the delayed in availability for retail and online retail websites. Most areas didn't have it until March 1st. In the future, th

Which version did Best Buy have? I ordered from EBgames.com and it says backordered (meaning shipping date has passed and still not stock).
Depends on your budget, power supply, and what kind of slot do you have (i.e., AGP, PCI, PCI-E)? If you have a PCI slot, go for a Geforce 6200. For lower end computers with power supply of 250W, go for 9550 Radeon or 9600XT Radeon. For higher end AGP and PCI-E, go for Geforce 6600 + or 1600XT ATI and above.
Try to get as many trade routes and space resources as possible. Other than that, build space stations around your planets.
The only thing I do is to highlight the freighter and right click the destination planet. I don't think there's a screen to automatically program trade routes.
You need the ship encoding software from this MOD forum and a software program that can do alpha channeling such as Paint Shop Pro. 1 bmp file 120x120 (Icon - build ship picture) 1 bmp file 64x64 (use the Stellar Frontier rotator) 1 bmp file 24x24 Then alpha channel and save the files as .tga If you read the Star Trek Encoding message, you'll find out more information concerning this. I tried but haven't any luck doing the alpha channeling. The images are in t
Citizen Coll_Ohmsford: Hey, what's up. Still have problem with the alpha channel. So I choose under Selections, select all to highlight the image strip, then save to alpha channel also under selections. I press OK to two of the questions, then save the file as name.tga Then I run the compiler to get my .mdl file. I rename the .mdl to constructor.mdl and loaded it into the game. But the constructor image is just an oval grey ship with some blue spots even though I tried multiple diff
I'll try your suggstion. Also, I think I have a bunch of Star Trek pics with the ships flat-facing. Don't know.

If I enlarge to 64 x 64 they look terrible. Tried using the larger ones but it looks weird when they turn." Try using the big images 128x128 and reduce them 50% to 64x64. Then use the 36x36 images for the required 24x24 images. If
I think trade routes do make a difference. All of my trade except one is with the Altarians since they were the furthest away and now they're close in relations. Of course I'm also fighting one of the enemies.
Most of the pics here are for Space Empire IV. I think you can reuse them if you want. http://newageshipyards.cjb.net/
I actually won against them. I ignored the evil growing thing and then sudden I lost my colony. I sent dozens and dozens of ships (Dreadnoughts) against them but they would destroy most of them. Other species would also send fleets of ship against them. I won only after one of the planet joined the I-League and the other one was conquered (I guess). Afterwards, I rebuilt everything and went on for a cultural victory. It was a close call. I kept on repulsing their ground invasion on Sol. Sol was
Atrocities hangs out at the Shrapnel Games / Space Empire IV forum. He just posted today (4/14). http://www.shrapnelgames.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=23;t=008619
Someone should just write a FAQ on www.gamefaqs.com It should include various methods to win, different strategies, etc.
I think all the add-on bonus stuff will never be included on the CD due to piracy. The bonus features will hopefully be an incentive enough for people to buy the game. And the not able to save feature for the download might help stop that to be pirated too. Just my thoughts, don't know if that's the truth or not. :)
I read about it in Computer Gaming Monthly (I think). It was a 4X preview thing with MOO3 and Space Empire IV.
Space Empire IV Gold includes many mods on the CD including Star Trek and such. I would like to see for the Star Trek mod: Federation (of course) Dominion Cardassians Romulans Kligons Ferengi Someone on Shrapnelgames forum is doing almost like a total conversion with Space Empire IV with the techs for Star Trek.
