a database can be "dumped" though, so i think it might be good for two reasons: you can search it and compile it into a "fat HTML file" (or whatever other file type you can imagine) pretty easy i'd imagine

I would send an email to the admins at The Orion Sector which is branching off to include GalCiv in their coverage. they are actively seeking to expand the site and i think would be happy to help in whatever way they can. They've got more bandwidth and webspace than you can shake a stick at so resources are not a problem. they've even got the framework for an online strategy guide, but right now it's tailored for MOO3. i'm sure it could be easily adapted to GalCiv. worth a shot. ask for either i
If anyone is interested, there's a very nice board for galciv at the orion sector: http://forum.orionsector.com/ It has all those nice forum goodies and is easy to tell which topics are new for you and which ones you've already sifted through.
I got the same thing. It installed okay from linux right off the CD but flips out when you go to play the game. I think it might have something to do with the screen resolution changing on the fly, since it also weirds out my monitor on occasion in windows. No other app i've ever had has done that.
about the two reviews: when we reviewed MOO3, we had played it for about 2-3 weeks already. But the way we felt about MOO3 went in phases: 1) giddyness as we opened the box 2) shellshock as we got bombed with info and UI screens and numbers 3) stunned dissapointment as we felt our 2-3 year wait was all for nothing. this game blows. 4) hey wait, this game's not so bad. it *does* have some good features 5) i might even like this game a lot! 6) oh, wait, never

From the Orion Sector front page news: ------------------ We've been kicking GalCiv around for about two weeks now, and after wading through Drengin starbases and Terror Stars we've scraped up some opinions on it. Weighing in at a pretty impressive 55kb of text and written up by three different reviewers, we think our GalCiv review covers all the bases and we also think you'll like the game. We even threw in over 20 hi-res screenshots. Discussion on the game and the review can be found h
I'd just like to chime in and say that, once upon a time, the moo3 boards used to be a very civil and good place to chat (this was two years ago when the game was still in mid-development stage and fans were contributing to the design). In fact, we all prided ourselves on being a better forum than most could ever hope to be. Over time, as the population increased, things slowly got out of hand. Sencho has been a mod for a long time on the MOO3 board and has usually done a good job of it
I've been going through my review copy (neener! neener!) and have been having some weirdness with my video. I'll describe the problem, but would like to know where the best place to report bugs is in the future. When the game starts up, the monitor turns off! (mine shuts off if it stops receiving a video signal from the computer). When the game starts, the screen goes black and the monitor tells me the session has been stopped and proceeds to shut down. However, if i click or press some
