Still not optimal but hardware mousecursor has improved performance quite a bit for me.
Yeah, my performance (while better since the last patch) is still quite disappointing. I can't speak for everyone, but the performance of the game is the biggest thing preventing me from enjoying it at the moment.

Totally agree. I'm liking what's happening during my game, but the terrible performance makes it next to implayable.
I'll add my 2 cents to the list. I know I don't have a powerhorse gaming rig, but surely I was expecting my Acer 8730G to run Elemental without any problems. I'm running Starcraft 2 on medium graphics settings on 1920x1080 resolution without a problem no matter how crowded the screen is. I don't have any framerates to report, but Elemental runs just really jerky. It's getting worse and worse as I progress through the game. I got so frustrated that I quit yesterday. Reloading
Quoting LordTheRon, reply 55 Agreed, Brad always stated the focus for the game is on singleplayer. In singleplayer balance isn't such a great issue. So give us the random maps for singleplayer and if need be use the current system only for multiplayer. There's balance, and then there's balance. Having resources be a bit imbalanced is one thing. Having to wander 50 turns before finding a place suitable for a first city is anothe

Plus there's also spells for raising and lowering the land so you can even make a mountain disappear if you need to. I think I'll be deleting the "seeds" as well (though I'll save them in another folder). I'd say Stardock will fix this issue given enough time. If there's one thing they know it's Strategy Games and any Strategy G
Sleep, I'm afraid I really need to get some sleep now.
Oh man, that was brilliant. Really getting late here though. Tomorrow is work, so I'll have to wait another 22 hours to play. But I'll get through it.

Oh boy what a lovely son... Poor little Sandra. Really love how this is implemented! One critical note though. This 4th installment is way too short! This won't get us through the weekend all the way till Mondaymorning.

I vote for lore! I've expressed this in a topic a while back. While customization is good and all I prefer a strong story. It's what makes game like warcraft stand out.

I don't think any of the betatesters would disagree with your designphilosophy here. We can play the game in it's current state and help it to get better step by step. I can be impatient too, but a game like this takes time, an enormous amount of time. And so you should take that time. We all know you guys (and gals) work your balls (and female genitals) off to make this a great game. I think graphics turned off till beta 3 is the best decision you guys made. I sincerely believe that
Sounds like a very sound plan. We need stability for MP.
First run worked quite well. No crashes here. So many improvements that I have to try a few more times to make any judgements. Just a few quick early conclusions: - Still had some trouble with disappearing units. - Also grouping units isn't as intuitive as I would like. - I got five small quests in a row, quite early in the game. Bit too much if you ask me, since I only had my sovereign to complete them. But all in all compliments, it DOES really

I agree that there should be a choice for 'custom everything'. And when that's your first choice a player can do whatever he likes. But If I don't want to customize my race I'd rather make a selection for eg a Capitar sovereign. If I chose a Capitar sovereign I shouldn't be able to turn him into a leader of the Tarth faction. It's like having Bismarck ruling the Zulu's in Civ. Just doesn't feel right.

Better yet, make two movies. I'm not sure which is easier/more effective.
I was hoping the movie is a give
Quoting Wintersong, reply 8 @Hackbar: victory condition means that if you achieve it, you win. It cannot be a Quest Victory if you get the artifact (supposed end of the Quest Victory) and end having to win the game by a militar victory (that i's not even assured with the artifact because if not the other players would go 'GG'). I understand this, yes. I'm not opposed to a quest vi
When suggesting some kind of Sovereign Creation process, I suggested to be able to lock Sovereigns to certain factions. The process involved two steps (Blood Inheritance and Life Inheritance) with an optional third (Social Inheritance) that would lock the Sovereign to a certain faction if used. Having Sovereigns independent of factions can be nice to use your favourite Sovereign with the faction of the day. But locking him to a single factio
Having fiddled with beta .0291 over the weekend I came to a few early conclusions. While I love customization I don't think it should kill the 'Lore' of the game. When starting up the game I could chose my sovereign, pick my clothes, pick traits, chose my faction and chose my race. For me this just didn't feel right. When I chose my sovereign he should belong to a certain faction. A Capitar sovereign, in my eyes, shouldn't be able to rule over the Tarth faction. After that I coul
