In this YouTube vid he does explain that he is getting revenue "even now" (at 5:58), without having build anything. And by not sacrificing essence in doing so, the result would be making you more powerful. So instead of building, I could make my living from conquering others. Is that not an option?
that video in part is not valid any more. we no longer use essence to found a city.. we can found the first one for free the rest require a pioneer unless you
I'm a gay man.
well I don't really care how happy your are... [e digicons]O:)[/e] OK silliness aside.. this is the best description about why it was unlikely/not allowed in these types of times and explanation of the problems of making it work easily in a game mechanic sense... like I said mods will probably cover this fairly quickly for those who want to go these routes..
Thanks for the replies! Not as straight forward as I'd hoped then. Playing a game without patches and updates isn't ideal, especially as I'd like to get involved in some modding. Updates are usually crucial to Modders. Ah well...Least I can play offline, that's a rarity nowadays. Mind you, if I go with the physical box and CD option, I could install on a friends computer maybe and save the up-dates

Yes at least the first printing will have a code for a bonus campaign based on the book. So each book will have different code? Including Kindle books? Or will it be sent separately by e-mail?
I am not sure how the delivery is going to happen o

Yes if you get a box and disk you can install and play elemental:war of magic single player off line without ever going on line.. however you will not get any updates or play multi-player (unless down the road custom servers allow for off line line play)..
