It's not just the end-game this is affecting. Here is a recent example from my game: My survey ship came across the source of the Drengin's military might deep in their space. An isolated starbase on a military resource with maxed out mining and defensive modules. I began to assemble a fleet of constructors, three anti-matter missiles, and two dreadnoughts at the bottom of the adjacent sector, out of view from the Drengin's searching eye. When my fleet was assembled, I cross

I would like to see a limit to adding starbase / terror star modules to 1 per turn / per starbase. This would have no effect on the early game because constructors are so expensive, and would put an end to players sending a fleet of constructors into enemy territory and rush building a terror star / party star in one turn. This would force the player to defend his constructors while the terror star is being built, and give the A.I. some time to react to it being built and mount a possi

Thongor, I for one am interested in the results you are getting. The testing that you are doing will provide insights on how the AI handles trading, and will give players valuable information they can use to their benefit in the game. If you have the time, I would love to see the results you get from different races, and the deals you are offered when you don't have a diplomatic advantage. I am not trying to cast blame on the developers for the way the AI plays the game. I w

In my current game, the Drengin are at war with a minor race that happens to be one of my major trading partners. Since my relations with the Drengin are "friendly", I have been giving the minor race free ships to help keep the Drengin at bay without me getting involved in a war. Then I spotted a great opportunity - an undefended Drengin starbase mining a resource, and a juicy convoy of lightly defended transports holding a total of 4 billion troops deep in Drengin space. I had a battleship o

Frogboy, I just installed 1.02.041 and jumped into a game to check out the trade sliders. No matter what you do, you can't get the dialog window at the bottom to get back down to $0. Even if you enter zero in the trade textbox, it won't work. :( DblDamage

This event happened to me when I was the wealthiest race in the UP, only I had to pay 5%. I didn’t have enough influence to vote it down, so it passed. When I was looking through the stat screens to see if it would be more beneficial to pull out of the UP, I noticed that it was the Drengin that got stuck paying the 5%, even though I was the race selected! This was with the 1.02 update. DblDamage

I wonder if the latest patch is compatible with saved games? After I installed the new update, the Drengin, who were at war with all the other races except me, immediately made peace treaties with everyone. I noticed that my trade sliders turned white. The slider itself no longer functioned, it’s stuck in the middle, and if you clicked to the right of the arrow, the amount offered would go lower instead of higher like it should. I also see the “string not found” message, howe

The UP decided that they were going to redistribute 5% of the wealthiest civ in the galaxy. That happened to be me. So as I was deciding whether or not it would be worth my while to pull out of the UP, I checked my economics screen and low and behold, I was getting more BC per month then I was before the vote. So I clicked back to the UP Foreign Relations screen, and was shocked when it stated that the Drengin were responsible for paying the 5%, even though I was chosen to pay the tax. <b
