2) probably is a .exe problem (so can't be modded) try to enter a riddicullous large number into the "months" part of a money transfer proposal on the trade screen. It will "overflow" and give you the maximum possible minus the number you entered. has to do with how c and c++ handles its variables, so I guess you need a new compile for this to work (ask your programmer he should know these things, and agree that you can't change it yourself). ~SDC~

Opinion: much too long to fit into the message screen, not worth that much text. ~SDC~
I like that event, once it saved me, once it gave away my diplomatic supperity... so what? Next time it will probably save me again from the drengins battelcruisers :D ~SDC~
"alliance of convenience" Well, If you go to war with a very hated "oppressor" Then you can count on other races helping you with stuff: Money, tech, ships. They will like you more and more, the longer you fight. THis is the "Alliance" you are looking for. However, if you greatly outpower them (or they think you do), then they will give you money occasionally, maybe even ships if you "kindly" demand them... but the they won't like you. This is also an "Aliance", but certainly under diffe
I am not absolutely shure about this (im normaly not the fighter type), but when you stack twenty ships and attack with them, they only get single attacks so actually stacking is a backdraw. Example: I have lots of battleAxes (lets say 20 but they are really slow, so I upped them via tech to three moves per turn) now I attack a minor race, they have around 9 corvettes in orbit. If I attack with all these Axes stacked, then I will be able to attack exactly three times. Each time destroying on
I had a cultural victory some days ago, where I got an imensely increasing income by increasing the months in the trade to a gigantic amount, funny where two things: if typing a too large number into the month field, it gets a overflow, and substracts the time you entered from the maximal amount it was able to handle. Also the AI does not care if its 1000 or 100000 months, so you can actually get a "infinite" time of 5-10 bucks per tech... now it seems THEY got that too! >:( eeeevil!<br
No it would not be cool to subtract from a stranger... unless he agrees to it. But it would be cool if you could see the empires flag's in the listing below the map (or even ON the map! ~SDC~
I wnat metaverse (:( (:( (:( ~SDC~
I am still unable to submit metaverse scores, I hear the transfer in my speaker (bad WLAN setup) so somezhing gets submitted, but I do not show up in the Metaverse. I tried any combination of registering my player, submitting score and even reregister the game . But no dice :( also I get the "distortion" when playing the drengin and during elections. earlyer the videos where chippy (sound skiping) but it seemed to be disapeared, was maybe due to speed of or bether lack thereoff (400
Bottom left of the planet screen, button gets you to the detailed view, increse "Propaganda". Raise Taxes depends on unknown factor, probably decrease in population & automatic increse in propaganda lower taxes Ship of citizens (& sell them ;) ) random events Increse in your stats going to war with someone (if that someone now needs the money from destabilizing to build ships)<b
The good UI is very slick, almost OS X like... I hope apple does not sue them :notsure: ~SDC~
And there's the CHEEEEEAAAT, yes there's the cheat! ~SDC~
Survival guide and Metaverse call a link in your default browser, so if you use a huge browser which needs long to load you have to wait some time (Phoenix needed around 1/2 minute for me), also if you have not set a default browser, these buttons wont do anything. ~SDC~
Its easy really, If you have some planet in one sector, you will increase your influence there, thus the influence in an adjactent sector rises too, which in turn rises influence in sectores adjactet to that one. But its only a small amount of the "originating" sector each time, so it gets less and less the further it goes. So if everyone else is also far a way, or has a bad influence rating, then you will get the sector... I once had sectors ont the OTHER side of the Drengins, because
I think that every game is a little different, once youre lucky, once youre... well not :D A setting for these afraid of this is good, maybe some adjusting about things that can kill you (like too early drengin IF it is not counterable (What I doubth)) I like the random event, it is a harsh universe, and if you can't cope, youre buttered... but unlike in RL you can always start a new Universe. I think you folks are defining 'winning' as fun, which is definitely not a good way to hav
resources disapear when the aliens "cover" them with a space station. I think it would be bether they would keep the x, but then when you see them again and find the spacestation it would change to that races color maybe even to the + sign, and keep that way until you uncover it again, seeing that another race has captured the resource, or just destroied the starbase etc. That I cant register in metaverse is the most hated bug for me, definitely!
Well it is one of the major problems in this game... but it is a game which generates problems for you to solve, how to repell the drengin, how to increase funding, how to get that new tech, etc. I do not see the Morale problem to be that big compared to the drengin or such, for one there is only around 40% bonus atached with "your" party, so loosing it in the late game is not that extreme... but when these red faces start to show up :( I think that it does NOT need fixing, but i never p
I actually had a game where I set the tax rate lower and lower until it reached 0... so I tought, what the heck if they will vote my party of due to only 45% approval, then I will at least profit from it! So i raised the tax to 14 and could start to build FAST. SO iraised it to 26 and all the building and the tech shot my graphs rocketing for the sky... and suddenly they LIKED ME!!! Success makes friends I guess. Later I started a war with the top power in the universe (drengins), becaus
So -TLA-Russia, are you playing the best AI or a reduced difficulty one?
Reagan produced the largest depht in the US history,,, bush jnr. is on a good way to beat him tough. ~SDC~
Some minor glitches, which one often oversees when the program was often used: In the diplomatic "speak to" screen, when clicking the fist it says for all races: "at war with the Pirates at war with the Belua" but there aint no such factions in this universe... maybe I am missing something here? In the detailed planet view, the middle column it says (example with earth): " Earth Population Growth Approval Rating: 82 Location: Sector 2,0 Pla
My response was meant to your second comment, I too think that your version of that particular event is better. and I think the planet option is harsh, but not wrong, I would keep it like that.
Well enough of trying. I am off to start my second game :p ~SDC~
Ah now at least the registration did worked, must have been a temporal problem... altough my score does not show even when I am registered :( I probably by now got a "cheater" for submiting the same game so many times :D ~SDC~
The good way is the one you take despite it is a rocky, uneven path... highways are evil ;) ~SDC~
