This could potentially be awesome, but will it be a cool game? In Galciv (or any 4x game) I try to make sure that I always go into battle with superior force, so most of my battles would be quite boring in a tactical sense. In games like Homeworld I'm typically outnumbered making the battles quite interesting and challenging. Rome Total War has the same problem for me: Because my armies were more powerful than my enemies most of the time, most of the battles were not very excit

I have been wishing for all this too. It would be great to have nebula that block sensors so you cannot see what is on the other side (like hills) or that slow travel (like hills) or decrease specific weapons (beams useless in electric storms, or missiles becoming too slow to be useful in gravitational fields) Just read up on some popular 'this-is-how-the-universe-works' publications to get some inspiration (like Stephen Hawkins' books). Terrain like this would be great. But mo

I just want to hug Frogboy! Thanks Brad, this model looks wonderful. I got into Drenging.net and extended it all because of Galciv, and with this new model I will be able to get Galciv II no matter what! I'm happy I have been able to support Stardock in this way, and I have been very well repaid. Thanks again, and keep the good times rolling!

Have patience. In my experience with Stardock (and Frogboy) they stick to their word. The games will come, it's just a matter of time.

hmm, in that case I'm hoping they make up for it later next year. But I would like to get 12 games on average in a year. Then again I would prefer a monthly game even more. It's just fun to see 'what game will I play this month javascript:editor_insertHTML('message',' ')

I sort of liked the threads about the potential new 'game of the month' last few months. I haven't seen a November release yet (with WWII:Frontline command being the October game). Does anyone have any idea as to what and when the next game will be?

Yay! I had previously already downloaded the stuff to see if that would help but I still got the crash. Removing the 'prompt for install directory' as suggested here does help! It installed directly from the downloaded archive now. Unfortunately I couldn't tell it where to install it to so I have no idea where it went ;) AARGH Yuck! It has been put into "C:\Program Files\Stardock\Drengin.net\AltarianProphecy" I HATE it when that happens. I never put my games on C:.
#6 by Veteran Geoffrey Montgomery - 12/19/2003 4:54:23 PM everytime I click install I get an error and windows says it needs to shutdown Stardock Central
Same here. I get a "memory could not be read" error when clicking the install icon. ~SDC~ for completion smartexception provides this crash log (there is nothing more): Stardock SmartException Logging Information ------------------------------------------- OS Version : Windows 2000 V

I would like to point out that if you are talking about warp speeds it only functions at discrete values of warp. (Check the star-trek technical manual). This means that warp 4=1000c, and warp 5=10000c but warp 4 is only 20c or something. This has to do with the fact that warp-drive is a method where the speed of the ship oscillates between sub-light and super-light speeds. On top of that, warp10 is the absolute limit in the sense that warp 10 means that your speed is so high you would be at

depending on the language you're looking for for example: Delphi: http://www.burstnet.com/cgi-bin/ads/ba2674a.cgi/RETURN-CODE/if/20034101733444/ C++ : http://www.fastgraph.com/help/rotate_c.html http://www.programmersheaven.com/zone10/cat345/15441.htm ~SDC~

but before you start writing one yourself check out some websites. There are a lot of algorithms out there you can use directly for this. ~SDC~

Carielf, rotating an image isn't that hard you know ;) Just basic sine and cosine of the x and y coordinates. It might get slightly more complicated when you want to have nice anti-aliasing but I'm fairly sure that will come out automatically when you use floating point precision. ~SDC~

In my last game both the Torians and the Altarians got this and both of them decided to throw all 100 corvettes at on of my dreadnaughts. Both times my dreadnaught survived (barely) at godlike experience. Somehow I have the feeling that those corvettes could have been put to better use. ~SDC~

I have actually read all the posts in this thread (I think) ;-) but haven't seen these gliches yet. In the financial screens I've had a few long running tributes. 1.02.036 these tributes are actually added to my expenses so that is good. However in my stat screen, economy tab it shows that I have 4billion in tribute! At a later stage when some of the tributes came to an end it startes showing a negative tribute, which WAS however calculated as a positive expense. On the stat screen
