Padlock, I totally agree with your perspective, a good game (like Civilizations) makes all the mechanics available for players who actually want to immerse deep enough to read them. That should be the core of all strategy games, not random trial-error-frustration, like I'm having with galciv right now (can you say morale?) Greetz.
