Yeah, I agree, as it currently stands you have way not enough warning about ANY vote coming up at all -- maybe if you knew you had 6 months instead of next turn, even if you didn't know the specific agenda, you could think about maneuvering for influence. Being able to spend a ton of influence to initiate a vote would be the ideal feature here for me. :-)

I started getting a lot of crashes in the latest build as well, in the diplomacy screen. I never had any problems with crashes in previous builds, so I'm guessing maybe something new in with this latest patch?
Perhaps there is a Minor Race (who don't show up in the usual influence areas) with enough influence to keep the victory from triggering? This bug / misfeature / confusing item happens to me all the time in my games, and I usually go out of my way to nurture strong independant worlds...
Yeah, 100% of the sectors are my color in the minimap, it's been this way for at least a year or two, but no dialogue has yet popped up, and that 12 mnts is still not counting down. Hurm.
So what is the 90% of cultural victory measured in? Playing my first game... I have the most influence in all 16 sectors of the map, but still no cultural victory. In the "menu" screen for cultural victory it states "12 mnts". I have no clue what that is supposed to mean. :-) Do you actually need 90% of total influence in the world, as opposed to controlling influence in 90% of the sectors?
What is the difference? Building a Manufacturing Center says it gives +25% manufacturing, but the planet details shows +25% production. Just a terminology inconsistency? Also there is clearly something odd (or a bug) going on with it, having +25% manufacturing on a planet generating 10 military production points is not giving me +2 manufacturing. Any ideas?
