Oddly, it seems that the only UP events that ever come up are the tax on war and the "which planet shall get to host the UP for a 50% influence bonus."
Agreed, that is all I am ever seeing at UP and I have no mods at all.

G'day Ben, did you see my & cyphers post on the board re mods & artwork??
If it was as simple as a memory leak
Fair enough, excuse my ignorance. I use Windows MediaPlayer 9.
G'day CariElf, Thanks for the response. Happenned again last night. No I don't get a virtual memory message. I used to get that with Morrowind when I first started playing it, but increased the amount at that stage and problem was solved. I don't want to suppose or pretend to know more than I do, but it seems to behave like a memory leak, either directly in Galciv or in something it is using. However, the problem does not ocur with the other games I play or applications I use.
BTW, I appreciate my post is abrupt/bordering on rude and I don't find the style of Stardock response to date to be helpful or useful.
Does the crash happen again if you load the autosave?
No, not immediately. It occurs after next occurence of vanishing ships. Ships vanishing happens much sooner after closedown/restart of galciv unless I reboot windoze. My drivers are up to date, directX is up to date, scandisk and defrag run on periodic (weekly) basis. It has certainly got worse for 1.11, and, as I commented, it is also certainly worse if other memory hungry applications are running or if
It still suffers from the "Disapearing ships" bug
Of course, they previously gave the microsoft response. Closedown/reboot, not worth fixing as there is an acceptable workaround. Yes, it directly impacts my game play also and I am not impressed by it all. It is a direct contributer to me playing & submitting less. [Message Edited] [Message Edited]
It doesn't centre the mini-map on the active ship when that ship ends an autopilot course. (Also seen the mini-map does not scroll.)
Hurls, what would you do if most of the references on an essay were URLs to Korean websites?
Panic!!! :sniff!: Realistically, try and find a Korean speaker! (What are the essays on??)
comments about increased AI difficulty
Arrgghh!! Hmm, I don't expect 1.12 will fix my major bugbear anyway. Namely, vanishing ships followed a few turns later by CTD. With only work around exit from GalCiv and full reboot (windoze 98). Sounds like a memory leak to me!
G'day, also not submitting much at the moment, exam marking etc. Also just stepped up to maso and keep getting my ar$e handed to me on a plate!! :( Might have to drop back to crip and try a few different approaches!! :notsure:
Hurley: you send it to me.
Thanks CarElf will do so this evening.
