Which version of 1.03 in Galactic Civilizations I Stardock Forums

I am confused by Stardock. I have installed 1.03, but on the Apolyton forums, someone posted there was a 1.03.054. Does one have to keep downloading version 1.03 to get all the minor upgrades, and how would one know that such a patch was available (it just says "Installed:1.03, Available:1.03" on Stardock Central). Is it that if there is something shown as "availale", then one should download it, even though the "root" version 1.03 is the same?
