Our Travels in the Metaverse Part 4: The Fellowship of the Ring Scene 1 The daffodils waved in the cool, placid breeze. They dotted the well-ordered fields and glens abutting the cobbled road between the spaceport and the Capital. The rich, yellow flowers greeted the warm, dawn sun as if to say ‘I love you’. Children gaily dressed in bright, cheerful clothes and wearing cute bonnets, waved happily at the cavalcade as they rode by. Jaws
You really conjured up a good visual picture for me.
Ms De Sade, I wish I could take credit, but in fact, you've supplied all of the details in your posts (apart from maybe the long red nails). And I would have added some piercings, except I didn't want to spoil it for Fulgrymm and you. ;p
Isn't it just a colony of criminals and misfits?
I know you're trying to goad us, but I can't help myself. I am actually from Adelaide which was never settled by convicts. Other Aussies may be descended from British scum-of-the-earth, but not South Australians! (Sorry Quack).

Our Travels in the Metaverse Part 3: The Evil Empire Scene 1 Fade in: a view of a nondescript planet. But the view shows the planet is dying: weeping opencut mines; stagnant lifeless oceans; the sores of rampant unrestrained industrialism; occasional radioactive wastelands. The view sweeps towards a large city crouching on seven hills like a malignant beast. The Whore of Babylon has dark buildings and grotesque architecture. Smog billows around
Well, Bluesteel ol' pal, I can tell you this - no one jumped ship from old Europe.
Probably because they couldn't be bothered. I think it's called 'inertia'.
I could even cook you a koala as a welcome-home present.
Against Australian law too.

Evil, since you've asked for my opinion... It wasn't an original empire but was pretty damn close to an original. It formed when a fledgling Kiwi empire and the Aussie empire merged. The Kiwis soon stopped playing and correct me if I'm wrong, but not a single Kiwi now plays. I softly cautioned at the time that using 'ANZAC' may be against Australian law (which it is). As time has gone on I have become increasingly disturbed that Aussies have used a national symbol like 'ANZ

Time to take a deep breath and just let the dust settle a little, I think. When a major empire falls it's not pleasant. Particularly when it is the ANZACs. In my humble opinion, that name should never have been used for Galcivia. The name means too much to the Aussie psyche.

Thank heavens. I suddenly recall an infamous moment at an Australian Showbiz Award ceremony many years ago when the MC was talking to Mohammed Ali on stage and national television. Now, this compere was a comedian, and his best loved line was to say of someone, "I like the boy". After a while, the MC turned to the audience and said ... Now that was a true clash of cultures.

Former Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad today pointed out that Australia had consistently lied about not being puppet sheriffs of evil America. He now had further evidence, not that he needed evidence, of 'Special Forces' being established with its trademark being a Sheriff's badge which was a U.S. Congressional medal. What next, he asked. Will they deny being animals as well? Sorry for introducing some RL politics. I couldn't resist. The SF aren't Aussie either. [Message Edit

For the ease of my readers, I have translated as well as I could. Europeans actually all seem to speak 10 or 12 languages fluently. Alas, I struggle with but one: Australian. My Travels in the Metaverse Part 1: The ANZACs Killa strode into the almost empty throne room. Emperor BlueSteel was slumped on his throne, twiddling with his sceptre. The Emperor glanced up and frowned. "Have you come to gloat?" he snapped, with a faint quaver in his bass voice. Killa shook his head. "Your pain is our pain Your Magnificence". The Emperor shrugged. "So why are you here? And in a new uniform too. We don't understand".
