1 - I havn't found a way to reset the color schemes yet. 2 - I'm usually between 10b and 20b. On decent planets, I always build one farm, one entertainment system. Here are some things you can do to try keeping your people happy: + Build a mining starbase on a Morale Resource. Try for more than one. Upgrade them. + Research the Xeno Entertainment line of techs for their innate Morale bonus. + On heavily overpopulated planets, build 2 Entertainment Centers to every F

As the game runs, its naturally going to consome more memory (more ships, planets, things happening). However, I've yet to experience any sort of lag or slowdowns thus far. Can you provide us with some basic computer specs (processor, memory, video card, video card driver version) so that we can make sure its not a hardware issue?

The AI has also come up with some really rather ridiculous trade offers, such as wanting to trade their Mass Drivers tech for my Xeno Ethics... when I've been researching Phasors. They could at LEAST have thrown in some money or influence into the bargain! This happens all the time. I tend to trade for more expensive techs (Harpoon 3 vs Basic

I had some fun ones today. This one happened twice, both games with me playing the Yor. The Terrans out of the blue offered me a peace treaty, even though we were not at war. The odd thing was, the peace treaty only appeared on my side of the screen, not on both sides. In both instances, the terrans declared war on me within a few weeks. The end game statistics for one game listed the Thalan as having their most powerful ship be a ship I had designed at the very end of t

I would like to see a better system in place for tracking what one can do during each turn. At this point after the latest patch (1D) I am having a hard time finding all of my ships, starbases, and planets - unless I want to search and scroll through ALL of them with the ships/planets info window - which frankly has too many ways to sort stuff and not enough of a list to s

- Defeated AI players (major, not minor) still have "influence" scores. I've noticed this as well. If you view the UP screen, it shows all the races with their influence scoers, even races that are no longer in the game.

- When you create a metaverse character, it should automatically set that character as the 'Default' without having to click on the Default button. Setting it as default lets the forum use your badges when you post, perhaps other things. Forcing people to figure out that they have to click that button on their own is a bit much. Also, the button looked greyed out when I first saw it, leading me to believe it could not be pressed. After I selected it, it lit up.

you need to go to the "Edit your Metaverse Characters"-Page and then click on "Default" once @ the character whose stats you want to show up here. The Default-Button should then be highlighted and the icons appear then. I followed these steps, and my icons show up now in all the posts I have ever made. <TABLE cellpadding=8 wid

Your social and military production is not supposed to require money if it is building nothing (according to the manual). However, only military production seems to be acting in this manner. Social production is still drawing the full amount from your treasury even if you're not building any planetary improvements. I havn't found a difinitive response from a developer saying 'its a bug', or 'its a design decision' yet, but I havn't really been looking that hard.

That sticky explicitly asks for small tweaks that can be implemented and tested in under an hour. I went through my list, found half a dozen that fit the bill, and posted them. Now granted, most of the suggestions people have in that thread don't fit the requirements. I'm amused by the number of requests for things people seem to think are simple, but in actuality would take over 10 man-hours to implement, let alone test. Pulling these lengthly suggesions from that list i

To clarify, if a ship has at least 1 attack, they'll gain starbase assist damage from all 3 damage types. If a ship has at least 1 defense, they'll gain starbase assist defense for all 3 damage types. Can you game this by having a fleet with one ship with 1 armor and the rest without defense? Seems like it would work To my knowledg

My new favorite trick.. 1attack/defense tiny ships with good engines. Use them as cheap planetary defense against transports, and send them out to snipe nearby frieghters. Slap a fully upgraded military starbase in problem areas, and boom! little ship turns into quite a killer.

You've got to abuse minors. I've sent one a planet once to get all their techs and money, only to conquer the planet back and take their main world. That would probably work with major civs, but it's a bit more dangerous. That's just... fantastic I'm go

When the popup for the random event regarding the "solar slammers" shows up, the text at the bottom is cut off. The text should be in a scrollable text field. Have you tried scrolling down?

1) No, you retain your progress on the old tech. If you switch back to the old tech at some point, you will pick up where you left off. 2) You gain the mining bonus accross your entire civ.

I'm pretty sure that's a bug they'll want to be fixing. The hard cap of -2000 is useful, as sometimes you just get stuck in a rut and it takes a lot of work to get your income positive again. You have to be above zero to buy anything, and they do allow you to go below zero during said spending.. but I never imagined going below more than a thousand through an instant buy. That's just... broken

I find myself ignoring defense totally a lot, and just piling on more guns. As long as you keep your logistics up, and make sure you always get the first attack, you'll wipe out the enemy without them ever firing a shot. Its the only way I was able to handle the dreadlords. Another thing to take into account is ship hitpoints. If you have a ship with 10 hitpoints, 18 attack, and 0 defense, all it takes is a weeny 10 attack ship to get lucky and take it out. However, if you have 6
